Communication, by Captain Andres, leading up to the fishing day was excellent. He keeps you informed on what's biting, what to expect for the day, and what you'll need to make the experience stress-free. Thank you, Captain Andres! The commute to the port was simple and only took about 15 minutes from the city center of Panama City. Don't be confused by the meet location at the boat ramp, you will be at the right spot. There was even a local gentleman there who was selling Tropical Fruit Popsicles to keep us cool and refreshed before heading out. We knew this was going to be a memorable day on the water as soon as we met our captain, Bernardo, and his mate, Sobri (aka: The Real Captain Jack Sparrow). These guys were all about making the total experience comfortable, fun, and full of action. They did not disappoint, right down to the music they played for us. Our day on the water was absolutely gorgeous and calm. The humid Panama air was quickly forgotten as we made our way out of the port onto the Gulf of Panama. About 20-30 minutes into the trip, Captain Jack Sparrow showed off his navigational skills and intuition to guide Captain Bernardo right into the sweet spot where lines were cast. It didn't take very long for the reels to start screaming as the Mahi-Mahi started running with our bait. In total we put 4 Mahi-Mahi in the box, as well as a Bonito. As far as a half-day fishing trip, my fishing partner and I were extremely satisfied with the amount of fishing action and time we got with Bernardo and Sobri. The cost was appropriate for the fantastic experience and service received. We felt the half-day experience met our schedule best, but if you have more time to work with, the full-day trip would not disappoint. I know that Bernardo and Sobri would have gotten us on a lot more species of fish with some extra time. Overall, we would give these guys, and Sunrise Charters Panama, 10 stars rather than 5. We gathered that it was their goal to give us what we paid for and more. No corners were cut by these guys. An extra shout out to Maa Goo Fish Tacos for helping turn our catch into a delicious post-fishing meal. We will without a doubt book our next fishing trip with Sunrise Charters Panama when we return. It was a wonderful day! It was just my wife and me out fishing; Bernardo and Júnior were very attentive and helpful. We caught three skipjack tuna—we didn't catch a mahi-mahi this time, but we had a wonderful day. We highly recommend it!!!
friendly and accommodating tour without the typical rush to move based on a schedule. Water, juice, sodas, beers and fruits included with plenty to spare. Fishing we caught in total 11 specimens with 7 Mahi Mahi and 4 Tunas. at the aaarival back, all fish was filleted and place in bags for us to take. The Captain even drove us to our AirBnBbin Marbella. An excellent day out with good music, food and plenty of fishing during my birthday. we'll do it again in a heart beat, highly reccomended.
La experiencia fue increíble. Pásanos súper bien. Tuvimos una muy buena pesca de Jureles en modalidad de trolling y también lo intentamos con Popper ya que veíamos los cardúmenes. Aparte de la pesca fue sorprendente ver especies como delfines, ballenas, tortugas, manta rayas y gran variedad de aves. Gracias Bernardo y Sobri por el gran servicio. Volveremos!

Our crew was Bernardo and Mike. two wonderful gentlemen. there was no language barrier, Bernardo was very fluent in English and Mike was pretty good. we fished for at least 6 hours and then they took us to Tobago Island where we went to one of the little local restaurant huts and they cooked our fish and made lunch for us. Great day with these guys, and very educational on all aspects of the canal and the things around the canal. Do not hesitate to book this trip!
