Get ready to fish the productive waters of the Florida Keys with Tail Gator Charters. With over 3 decades of experience, you can expect a professional guide who knows where the fish are. Captain Bill Miller caters his trips to all levels of experience and guarantees you’ll have an awesome day on the water!
Your boat for the day is a 22’ Penn Craft bay boat, powered by a 200 HP Suzuki engine. The captain’s vessel comes with state-of-the-art navigational electronics, fishing gear, and safety equipment. You’ll have outriggers for trolling big game pelagics and a livewell to keep your bait fresh in between catches.
The boat also comes with a multimedia system so you can listen to your favorite tunes while you fish. She accommodates up to 4 guests, including kids ages 8 and up, and everyone can fish comfortably at the same time.
The winter months are prime time for Sailfishing in the Keys as the cooler temperatures bring them in closer to shore. Capt. Bill will have you targeting Sailfish, as well as other big game species, such as Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Blackfin Tuna. You’ll also have the chance to go after various Grouper and Snapper species, as well as Cobia, Permit, and Tarpon.
Top-quality Penn and Daiwa rods and reels are provided on all trips.
Capt. Bill will also offer to clean and fillet your catch. He also provides drinks on board but feel free to bring your own if you’d like. All you need is sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and the rest will be taken care of.

3/4 Day Trip
The Great Miracle Trip
This trip was awesome. The captain and crew were awesome. They put us on fish fast and lots of them. My wife wanted to catch a black fin tuna, and as elusive as they are, at the end of our 3/4 day trip we caught some just before our trip ended. The crew cleaned and bagged our catch so we could take it with us. Captain and crew are very friendly and fun. I would like to recommend them for anyone looking to book a chartered fishing trip. I also wanted to say thank you to the captain and crew for the best fishing trip ever.

Bill was an awesome captain! me and my wife were concirned about the weather and so last minute talking with bill we changed our trip to an inshore trip and he was very honest and upfront about being safe and we still had such a great time! 3/4 Day Trip
Great Experience!
Cpt Bill was great. My son and I had a wonderful experience, caught several fish and learned a ton about saltwater fishing. Meeting location was easy to get to, the boat was clean and all the equipment was great. We weren’t looking to catch anything in particular. Bill took us out, set the boat and we started catching fish. Caught yellow fin, two different species of shark, barracuda, snapper, mackerel. Bill and my son (21 years old) were like old fishing buddies before the days end. We booked a 3/4 day trip. Just enough time to catch several interesting fish. If we were going further out for mahi-mahi or sailfish I would book a full day. I would absolutely use Cpt Bill for our next mother/son saltwater fishing trip!

All Boxes Checked!
We had a great time out on the water with Captain Bill! We booked a half-day trip for myself, my 10-year old son and two other family members. At the time I booked with Captain Bill, my son and I made two requests: help us catch some fish, and help us catch at least one shark (that was from my son). Both boxes were checked! We caught a few porgy, yellow-tail and mangrove snapper (and lots of yellow grunts). But the catch of the day was a 3-foot Atlantic sharpnose shark! We had at least two other sharks on the line as well that unfortunately broke off, but not before a couple of fun fights on the line. Captain Bill was knowledgeable, highly responsive and made the experience fun for all of us. We highly recommend him!

Captain Bill was a great host for our trip with my two sons and I. He communicated very well and informed us of potential weather concerns. His place was easy to find and he was waiting when we arrived. We fished for Mangrove Grouper and sharks simultaneously. We had a ton of bites and landed a lot of fish. We only had two keepers and one shark, but we had a ton of opportunities. Highly recommend Captain Bill!
