Based in Tavernier Florida, Sun King Charters is your ticket to a memorable reef fishing experience. Capt Aaron takes the steps to bring a fun, no nonsense easy fishing day on these beautiful waters.

Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Red Grouper, Kingfish, Barracuda, Shark, Spanish Mackerel, Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, and whatever else takes the bait. During the trip, you might be light tackle fishing, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board.

The charter trip covers all of your fishing license & permit requirements. If you still aren’t totally sure what to expect - please ask the Capt.

You'll be fishing from a 25’ Sea Hunt Gamefish
that holds up to 6 passengers.
Boat comes with a T-Top for shade, Type-1 life vests, comfortable seating and a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Aaron has rods and reels for you and bait is also provided.

It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks - please do. Alcohol is permitted. Sun King has an ice chest on board for your drinks/snacks or feel free to bring your own cooler.

Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Sun King Charters!

The best!

3 Hour Reef Fishing Trip on October 21, 2025

We’ve gone out with Captain Aaron three times now, and every trip has been awesome. He really knows his stuff and makes the whole experience easy and enjoyable for everyone. This time we booked back-to-back charters — one with the kids and one with the adults — and both were perfect. He keeps things fun, is great with kids, and clearly knows where to find the fish. The kids are already asking when we can go again, and honestly, so are we. We wouldn’t fish with anyone else!

Fishing Trip!!!

Half Day Reef Trip on September 23, 2025 • 4 adults

Hi Everyone!! My group booked a trip with Aaron while we were in the keys. We are not experienced fishermen, with My husband fishing the most, but in Lake Erie. We had such a great time. Aaron was wonderful. Explained everything. My husband and sister piloted the boat (they wanted to). He is so down to earth and understanding. We caught plenty of fish and he explained why we had trouble in some other areas. Afterwards he cleaned the fish, we drank our beverages, hung out like old friends for a little bit, and just laughed. Such a memorable experience. If we are ever back in his area I will be booking another trip with him, or calling him to hang out. I also volunteered to move to FL, and be his deck hand for free. I don’t know why I even leave FL. Thanks Aaron!!!

Most Fun Captain in the Keys

Half Day Reef Trip on June 21, 2025 • 2 adults

Its pretty much standard at this point that captains in the Keys can put you on most any species you want. Sometimes there are off days, it's still fishing, but to have a captain that can do that and be a genuinely entertaining, good hearted person is hit or miss. Captain Aaron is the best captain you could go with get the full package trip. If the fish are biting, you'll be on them. He can make a quip or joke that gets you laughing, ride the highs and lows with you, and still manage to keep everything on track for a successful trip. His fish cleaning skills are superb, and you wont find anyone better with new fisherman or families. I have brought two of my friends down now to give them a taste of good fishing, and Aaron handled both like a champ, while still taking care of me and making sure I had a good time as a more experienced fisherman. Aaron is your guy

Our family fished with Captain Aaron during our stay in the Keys. We had the best time and caught many fish including mangrove snappers, yellow tail and two large bonitas! My boys who are 10 and 8 had very little salt water fishing experience prior to this. Captain Aaron was patient with them, and us and put us on the fish and guided us every step of the way. Overall this trip exceed our expectations with our first family fishing charter. We will definitely be back to Largo and can’t wait to hook up with Captain Aaron again!

Great Experience with Capt Aaron!

3 Hour Reef Fishing Trip on August 2, 2025 • 2 adults • 2 children

My husband and I took my 5 and 7 year olds for their very first fishing trip. I was a bit worried they would get bored and not really be able to catch anything… but we caught tons of fish, my daughter caught 7 all by herself!!! It was so much fun! Then on return, Capt Aaron prepared our fish and recommended local “Hook and Cook” locations —- needless to say the fresh fish was incredibly delicious and my “French fries only” 5 yr old gobbled up FISH! What a great day! Definitely recommend!!
