If you're up for some fishing off the coast of Portugal, Rock & Reel has got you covered! Guide Cristian Pérez will take you along the fisherman's track of Costa Vicentine Natural Park, where you'll enjoy fishing on foot with some incredible coastline views.
Getting to the fishing spots can take up to 20 minutes, and then the real adventure starts! Capt. Cristian was born into a fishermen family, and he's spent his entire life on the water, so you can be sure of his ability to make your trip as fun and productive as possible.
You'll use mostly Daiwa rods and reels. Your main target will be Sargo (White Seabream), but you'll also come across Gilt-head and European Seabass as well. You'll be sight fishing, and the crew will introduce you to the traditional fishing techniques used in the Algarve.
If you're keen on tasting your catch, you can take it home with you. If you want to learn how to clean, process, and cook your fish, the crew will be happy to teach you and share their recipes with you. It is time to make yourself comfortable on the beach, take a little break, and share your amazing experience! The fishing license will be taken care of by the crew.
Kids older than 10 are welcome to come on this adventure if you'd like to make some amazing memories with them. They can enjoy some of the most beautiful natural views while learning how to fish in these pristine, rich waters.
The crew will provide coolers, and you're welcome to bring your own food and drinks to stay energized. Make sure to wear rain gear and waterproof shoes in the fall and winter, and bring some sun protection in the warmer months, so that you can fully enjoy your trip.

I booked the shared land-based fishing adventure for my son and myself. Cristian and Marzena were fantastic! They provided some quick instructions and tips beforehand and regularly cycled through each of the participants while fishing. Afterwards, they demonstrated how to clean the fish and then turned it over to us to clean the remaining while they watched and provided guidance. They also provided guidance on cooking! You'll be happy you booked with them…we certainly are!
And captain Cristian is the best guide I've ever went on a fishing trip with. He picked an awesome location, patiently showed and explained everything to us and helped us to catch a very nice fish. A must-have experience for every adventure seeking fishing enthusiast, no matter the skill level.
Rock fishing with Cristian and Marzena was a wonderful experience. We travelled to a truly beautiful stretch of coastline and were coached expertly in the best possible techniques for catching Sea Bream. Cristian and Marzena did everything to make us all feel well looked-after and confident. They advised us on best rig, best bait, where to cast and how to recognise a bite rather than a pull from a wave! Nothing was too much for them and they show such enthusiasm and friendliness, it is infectious! Thank you to both our hosts for a terrific afternoon on such a lovely, secluded bay. We all caught fish and Alfie and I will definitely be back!

You can find me rock fishing, picking seafood, surfing, snorkeling, cooking my catch in front of the sea or even better sharing all of this with friends. My fishing partner got intensely into fishing all over Australia. From then on she never left a country behind on her travels without trying to catch a fish. We have been fishing on 5 continents but finally decided to stay in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park. It's one of the last wild fisheries in Europe, where you can enjoy a pristine fishing spot just by yourself.
