There's a fish with your name on it in Alvor and Alvor Boat Trips will help you catch it!

Depending on the time of year, you might hook into European Seabass, Gilt-head (Seabream), Garfish, Conger Eel, Grouper, Mackerel, Horse Mackerel and plenty more. On the day of your trip you're likely to bottom fish.

Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! All safety equipment like life vests are available on board and must be used during this trip. Also remember to bring snacks to keep up those energy levels!

Capt. Luis runs a 28' Starfisher sportfishing boat that can carry up to 8 passengers. It has all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release shark due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

We also have a partnership with a local restaurant next to our kiosk, where at lunch they clean and grill the fish that you caught and garnishing is included for only 10,00€!*

*Please note that the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and only accept guests for lunch time until 5pm. Reservations according to availability.

It's recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Great morning of fishing with the family!

4Hour Trip – Bottom Fishing Private on August 2, 2025 • 4 adults • 2 children

We did the 4 hour morning bottom fishing tour. Aurelia and Clayton were a great crew. We had a nice boat cruise on the way out and they got us directly to the fishing spot. We were catching fish within 10 minutes of throwing out our lines. We caught a large variety of fish. They were all relatively small but the quantity was great for everyone to catch fish and we took home much more than we could eat in a meal. We caught various Breams, Trumpet fish, Scorpion fish, Grouper, and Mackerel. On the way back in from the reef we were lucky enough to see some dolphins right next to the boat. Aurelia was so great with our 7 and 9 year old boys. This trip is perfect for a group that wants to catch quantity over size. We would highly recommend this tour! We had our fish cleaned and cooked for us at A Ribeira, the restaurant right on the harbor.

Amazing Trip with Miguel and his Dad

Miguel and his Dad were amazing on a windy choppy day on the seas they still found us somewhere to catch fish. They were helpful and so accommodating . It was my partners 50th and they brought a bottle of bubbles and a cake to celebrate. To finish the day they booked a local restaurant to cook our catch. Perfect ending to a perfect day. luis and clayton were great. they put me and my girlfriend on fish, super helpful with baiting hooks, and overall fun day of fishing. highly recommend if you want to get out for a day of fishing and sight seeing. If you arent great with oceans id advise taking a gravol or anti nausea medicine as boat is smaller and potential for sea sick is there but we took Gravol and was perfect the whole time. we will be back one day thanks luis and clayton

What a trip!

2 Hour Trip – Family Fishing Shared on July 25, 2025 • 6 adults

Fantastic fishing trip from Alvor. Left just before 2pm, we were fishing by 2:30pm. All eight of us on the boat caught 8-10 fish each, mainly sea bream, mackerel and grouper. My two children, aged 7 and 10 were helped by the captain and crew and both had a great time catching numerous fish. Definitely recommended this trip. We were due back to Alvor at 4pm but we were still fishing at 4:10pm. Arrived back to Alvor at 4:30pm. Everyone had a blast 👍
