Fishing CR 

If you’re looking at a fishing trip in Playa Herradura and you want an authentic experience with a great crew, this is your trip. Firstly: its a wet landing. Yeah your feet get wet boarding the water taxi but thats part of the experience so embrace it. It’s a panga. It’s not a custom yaht. It’s a fishing machine and thats what makes it great. No frills. No AC cooled cabin. Just a classic fishing boat with plenty of shade and a place for the wife to use the restroom in private. We didn’t catch a bunch of fish but it’s called fishing, not catching. The crew put in %100 of their effort from the time we arrived until the time we hit the beach to come home. Weather was great. The seas were perfect but the bite was hard to come by. The crew managed a tough fight with a Jack Cravelle to at least say we landed a fish but when mother nature surrounds you with sea turtles, porpoises and humpback whales, you take in the moment and enjoy your little piece in paradise while you have it. We’ll be back to experience some tightlines but until then, Pura Vida!

¡Tuvimos una experiencia increíble! Luis es un excelente capitán, una gran persona y alguien muy divertido, con quien pasamos un rato espectacular. Él y su equipo hicieron todo lo posible para que disfrutáramos al máximo. Hicimos pesca de fondo y logramos capturar bastantes peces grandes, entre ellos pargos, cabrillas y pochotes. Además, prepararon un ceviche y un sashimi con nuestra pesca, y sinceramente, fue una de las mejores comidas que he probado en mi vida. ¡Todo sabe mucho mejor cuando uno mismo lo pesca! El tour estaba previsto para durar cinco horas, pero Luis y su equipo se extendieron casi dos horas más para que pudiéramos seguir disfrutando. En un momento nos agarró la lluvia y también nos ayudaron a empacar nuestras cosas para que no se mojaran. Excelente servicio y una experiencia inolvidable. ¡Totalmente recomendado para cualquier persona que quiera vivir una gran experiencia de pesca! Luis es un excelente capitán.

We caught way more fish than we knew what to do with! Luis knew exactly where to go and we got fish after fish until our arms were sore! They were super nice too, offering us sunblock after I mentioned I left ours in the car. The first mate even offered us some mangoes he picked in his garden that morning. They really went above and beyond. Something I wish we had known ahead of time, there's no dock at Playa Herradura, there's a smaller boat that picks you up at the beach and takes you to the larger boat moored just offshore. You have to get into the water to get on the boat so come ready for that. I told my daughter not to wear sneakers but she didn't listen of course.

My buddy and I booked this fishing charter with a goal in mind. To catch the beautiful Roosterfish and potentially take some good eating back home to the house. Capt Luis and his mate were very kind and informative. Luis enjoyed answering any questions we had and conversed in other things not fishing related. First 2 hours or so was slow , but these gentlemen put in the work and didnt stop until we started consitently catching fish. The Jack crevales were chewing, then my buddy got a very nice spanish mackerel that we ended up taking home. We had about an hour and a half left of our trip and still no Roosterfish. Luis was working overtime to get us the main targeted species and just like that my buddy and i both hooked up on beautiful Roosterfish! The four of us celebrated and their work really paid off. I would highly recommend a trip with Capt. Luis and his mate! Pura Vida!

Great trip...we started out trolling and was a little slow so we started bottom fishing..we caught Grouper, Snapper, Tilefish, and Rock Fish. Trolled on way in and caught Yellowfin Tuna and a bull Maui Maui...deckhand made 2 batches of fresh sashimi for us and had all supplies on boat, it was awesome..we have been having locals prepare all the fish we brought in and overall an awesome experience. 10 outta 10

Captain Luis and his first mate did an incredible job. My two boys and I had a great day fishing thanks to Luis. Extremely polite and knowledgeable. We caught a bunch of snapper, grouper, rock fish, and margaritas. Luis and his first mare made us two of the most amazing sashimi and ceviche meals we’ve ever had. Our goal was to land a sailfish and we had two on. One jumped six feet out of the water, but was able to outsmart us in the end. Captain Luis did everything possible to make sure we had a great day!

I am sure it was not their busiest day on the water, but we had the best time. The crew were happy to make themselves busy ensureing we had the best chance at catching fish. My partner and I both reeled in BIG sailfish and the crew assisted us with photos that will hold memories for a lifetime. Between fish, the crew was friendly and accommodating. If you love good vibes, this is the crew for you. They brought along tasty treats and beverages and always made sure our needs were met. We caught some rockfish, so the crew made delicious ceviche and sushimi while we were on board. If you love music for your boat rides, they also have a bluetooth speaker. So come prepared with a downloaded playlist (there is no internet on the ocean) with your preferences and they'll be glad to hook it up for you!

Captain Luis and Douglas were absolutely amazing - super kind, positive, and genuinely fun to be around. I came in with one big goal: hook a sailfish and they made my dream come true! The bite was very slow and it seemed like nobody was catching much that day, but these guys stayed focused, kept working, and never gave up. I booked the full day (9 hours) and Im so glad I did - it took us about 7 hours to make it happen and it was 100% worth it. I was also out there celebrating my birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special. They had food and drinks, great energy the whole time and made the entire experience unforgettable. True professionals. Highly recommend. I’ll be back.

incroyable! les guides son exceptionnel. nous avons pris un 3/4 de journée. les guides sont friendly et son de véritable gentleman. ils feront tout pour que vous passez une journée incroybale. nous avons même pu ce baigner. les repas et collation son delicieuse et les bieres aussi. vous ne manquerez de rien avec eux. si je retourne pêchez au costa Rica je choisi CR fishing a nouveau sans hésiter. ils sont patient et passionée et vous aiderons. nous avons attraper plusieurs espèces et un Sailfish. We had a nice family day trip and it was an amazing time. We weren't sure if we would catch anything significant, but ended up catching two ~150lb sailfish! After that we told the captain we would be interested in catching some fish to eat, so he made it his mission to catch as many smaller eating fish as possible. We ended up catching another 8 or so fish, and they made a fresh ceviche right there on the boat for us! We chose the 3/4 day trip and that was about perfect. I would highly recommend doing this!
