Sport Fishing Herradura welcomes you aboard for a day exploring the area's top spots for some delicious and hard-fighting fish. Captain Randy Delgado builds every trip around what you want to do, making your fun and safety the number one priorities so you can relax and enjoy the fishing.

You will be fishing aboard the Los Cielos, a 31' Aquasport center console. The boat has great all-round fishing space and a covered top to keep off the hot tropical sun. She also has a portable toilet for extra comfort on longer trips, and snorkeling equipment for if you want to spend your time in the water as well as on it.

The Los Cielos is rigged and ready to take on even the fiercest of big game species, with a mix of light and heavy tackle and a ton of great equipment and tech. GPS and fishfinder get you on the best catches, while the boat's outriggers and downriggers let you properly target every habitat and species.

To tempt in the fish, you will be given a livewell full of fresh live bait. The boat also has tuna tubes to let you troll live Bonito and Skipjack and lure in some real prize-worthy sea monsters. On top of this, you will have a range of colorful lures to fill out your spread or change things up.

Half day trips will see you bringing in tasty Snapper and Grouper, as well as some huge Roosterfish, Jacks, and Barracuda for some serious inshore battles. Book in for the whole day, and you can get offshore in search of massive Marlin, huge Sailfish, and a rich variety of other big game pelagics.

No matter what you do, you will be in for an awesome day with an experienced local guide and a great, modern boat. So climb aboard and get ready to make some memories!

Slow Fishing But Great Captain and Crew
Full Day Trip - Offshore on July 7, 20264 adults

Not many boats out today. We fished offshore all day with little success trolling for the big fish we were hoping for.we caught 4 black tuna. One was bog and the rest were pretty small Beautiful weather. Boat was immaculate and David was very friendly and always busy. Captain Randy asked if we minded bottom fishing for a while so we could catch some fish. We pulled a 20+ pound yellow tail tuna, 2 nice grouper and 2 tile fish. Since we now had plenty of meat, we decided to try for some game fish. David cut up a delicious plate of fresh caught tuna. We didn't have any more luck so headed in. Awesome day. Awesome of Randy to at least put some fish in the boat. Great crew to enjoy a day on the water with.

Wonderful day fishing
Full Day Trip - Offshore on June 30, 20264 adults

We booked an all day trip with Captain Randy and 1st mate David. They were fabulous! Captain Randy was very interactive with us as most captains that we've gone out with before on different trips rarely even spoke to us! Their friendliness, knowledge, and work effort gave us a great trip. We caught 6 yelllow fin tuna in the morning, and in the afternoon, very briefly hooked a sailfish but it got away quickly, and we almost had a mahi mahi in the boat but at the last second it spit the hook out. Randy had a great musical playlist which was wonderful to listen to. I was confused about the meeting area but just go to Playa Herradura and you'll see the huge sign for water taxi. At the shoreline tell the water taxis you're fishing with Randy or Los Cielos and they'll take you right out to his boat. 1st mate David made fresh ceviche for us, plenty of cold water, sodas, and beer (if you like), great pineapple snack and sandwiches for lunch. There was a sun shade on the boat along with a toilet. 1st mate David filleted our catch and bagged it up for us. We got off the boat and took it to Coco's restaurant right in the beach and they cooked it up for us! Delicious! We will definately book with Captain Randy again!

Fish on indeed
Full Day Trip - Offshore on June 5, 20264 adults

I've been fishing several times but never had this much success (and fun!) catching fish. Once we got out to depth, we were consistently on fish, sometimes with two reels at the same time. In the end, We caught several mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna, and a couple of trophy sized snappers. One was about 40 lbs and the other was 25 or so. We even hooked a shark that was at least 100 lbs and fought with it for 45 minutes be fore it broke the reel just as we got it right up along side the boat. The captain that day (no Randy) and First mate David worked their tails off and were really cool to talk to. I appreciate them making this our best fishing experience

Amazing day
Full Day Trip - Offshore on March 4, 20262 adults

We are from Alaska and fish a lot. so coming to Costa Rica this was new. Randy and his Deckhand David got us on fish right away. 2 sailfish hooked but we didnt get them to the boat. Sure was cool to see them jump though. Them we found huge schools of Yellow Fin Tuna. Fish on. Man do they fight. David kept us busy swapping lures to keep the bite going. We are taking home more fish than we ever expected. If we come back to this area again, we will definitley be fishing with Randy again. We had an amazing time.

Memorable and Productive Day on the Water
Half Day Trip (AM) on May 25, 20263 adults

Captain Randy and his crew were friendly, professional and the best at what they do! We had a great time on their clean and comfortable boat! They were determined to make our entire trip successful and fun and they achieved that and then some! They took the utmost care in catching and cleaning the fish and were cautious when releasing the ones we couldn't keep. Lunch was simple and delicious, too! Some of the fish we caught on our 5 hour trip were Mahi Mahi (various sizes), Spanish Mackerel, Sailfish, Black Tuna.
