Hatterascal Charter Fishing
There’s some great fishing to be enjoyed in North Carolina’s inshore waters. You’ve got a great pair of hands in Captain Tommy, who has over 30 years of experience in charter fishing and a lifetime on the water in Hatteras. All groups, ages, and skill levels are welcome to join him aboard his charter.
He’s got a 30’ Custom Carolina cuddy cabin to take you out in. It was originally built in 1983, but he restored it recently in 2015. It’s very well kitted out and includes an onboard toilet, a fishing chair, fishfinder, live bait well, and an ice box, making it comfortable and practical.
When you’re out on these waters you can expect to catch the likes of Bluefish, Cobia, Kingfish, Redfish, and Spanish Mackerel. Spinning and trolling are the go-to techniques on this trip, making it suitable for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Live bait is used on this trip and it will be ready for you prior to your trip beginning.
There’s catch cleaning stations at the marina for you to prepare anything that you catch and wish to take home. Your fishing license is included as part of the trip so there is no need to be concerned about that.
You are welcome to bring anything you want to eat, drink, or smoke on the boat. A small cooler can be taken too if you are taking a few supplies. Once you’ve booked you can look forward to a superb day of fishing in North Carolina and creating lifelong memories.

Captain Tommy and the Hatterascal is awesome!
We had a great afternoon on the water and brought in a huge catch. Tommy works hard to make everything fun and relaxing. No pressure but oil pressure! The boat and gear are fantastic! Clean and well maintained. You know the moment you step on you're working with a long time pro. We're already looking forward to our next day on the water with this charter!

Great half day charter
We were a grouop of 4 dads that got a hall pass to go fish for a bit. Capt. Tommy had us on the Bluefish and Spanish Mackeral within half an hour of leaving the dock. Caught more than we could eat and enojyed the fish the rest of our stay in Hatteras. Would definitely recommend and will be back next year hopefully!

Amazing fishing trip!
Captain Tom was such a pleasure! He made everyone feel at ease, cracked jokes and we just adored his southern accent! My little one (10) was his little helper and had the best time!! We caught lots of fish, 48 pounds to be exact! Book the trip you won’t regret! Thank you Captain!

“I smell fish, get ready!!”
Captain Tom said “I smell fish, get ready.” a minute later all four rods hit hard! He put us on the fish and kept us on them so much so that we had over 75 pounds of fish! We actually had to leave the spot because we didn’t have enough cooler space for anymore in our camper van!! Captain Tom knows these waters and he knows how to Catch the big ones. This was my dream adventure. We call it catching more than it was fishing!

Perfect family day!!
I can’t rave enough about Tommy and our fishing adventure!! He was really good with the kids and patient with them wanting to see everything! We got to see a bunch of dolphins, catch a decent bit of yummy fish and even saw a shark! Two of our crew are very susceptible to getting sea sick and he found calmer waters to help keep it a fun day for us. I would definitely recommend booking with Tommy!
