This beautiful river is nestled in the natural world of Michigan, right in the heart of the Manistee / Huron National Forrest, and what better way to explore it than with an experienced fishing guide? Your guide will be Capt. Ken Morris, a serious angler with over 20 years of experience, who’ll take you to all the best places and make sure you have fun.
You’ll be fishing from his 18’ Stealthcraft Power Drifter Jet boat, perfect for accessing all the nooks and crannies of Manistee River. The boat can take up to 2 anglers, so grab a few friends and have a great time! There are navigational electronics on board to help put you on the fish, as well as an ice box for your catch.
Michigan has some of the most beautiful nature around, and the stunning views you’ll enjoy will add to your experience. Manistee River is teeming with wildlife, and it’s a great place to come and let your hair down, reeling in some prized freshwater fish. You can expect to target the likes of Steelhead, Chinook Salmon, as well as Brown Trout and Coho. From early May thru August is the best time to chase Smallmouth Bass and Northern Pike on the Fly.
Ken will have all the fishing equipment you’ll need ready for you when you come on board, including rods, reels, and tackle. Ken’s happy to clean and fillet your catch at the end of the day, so you’ll get a nice meal out of your trip!
Kids (12+) are welcome to join in on the fun if you want to show them what fishing is all about. All you need to bring is a valid fishing license, as well as some snacks to keep you energized while you battle these trophy fish.

Fantastic trip!!!!
Everything about our trip with Ken was amazing from start to finish! We would recommend this guided service to anyone and everyone looking to learn and land some fish! Our oldest daughter was with us and absolutely loved her time on the river. She landed one of the biggest kings and cannot wait to go again! We left the river with many massive king salmon and so much more knowledge of this sport! We had a BLAST and had amazing, perfect fall weather. Thank you, Captain Ken, for wonderful trip! Five stars!!!!!

Great experience
I booked a trip for my husband and son, it was for my son’s birthday trip. They had a great time their captain was very knowledgeable caught lost of Bass and Pike. They had an absolute blast and want to go back in September. My son cooked the pike he caught, it was delicious! I highly recommend!

Our first salmon fishing
What an amazing day! My husband is a bass fisherman from way back. I am new to this fishing thing. We learned so much, not just about salmon fishing, but about the ecology of the area. My husband caught one almost immediately. Brad is a great captain who knew the river and the equipment that we used. We will be booking him again in the spring for the small mouth. We've already shared his website and number with family.

We loved Brian! Personalable and patient. One of us was basically a first time neophyte fisherperson and he was patient and skillful in teaching the trade. answered all our questions and did a nice job coaching the more experienced member of our team. experiencing the salmon run firsthand is something I would recommend for everyone at least once it was great fun and we caught lots of fish. - Nicole and David
