Come to Lakeside Marblehead, Ohio and have a beautiful fishing day on Lake Erie. Mar-Lu Sport Fishing Charters is a family-owned and operated fishing resort that operates out of their own marina with a motel and cottages. Lodging is available for our guests. Join Captain Ron or Captain Greg to have a great experience fishing in the Western Basin of Lake Erie. Our family has been serving the needs of Lake Erie anglers since 1978.
Our boats are 28' Marinette Sportmen, aluminum fishing boat. It's powered by a 270 HP Chrysler Marine engine and can fish up to 6 people. It's got quality GPS, fishfinder, and radio systems that will help you reach the fish quickly. The boat's also got a private toilet you'll have at your disposal.
Captain Ron uses light tackle and specializes in drift fishing. You'll have the opportunity to fish hands-on, feel the hit, set the hook, and fight the fish all the way to the boat. This way there will be no drag of a motoring boat and the distractions of excessive hardware and tackle. You'll be targeting Walleye, the jewel of Lake Erie, well known as the Walleye Capital of the World. You can bring kids on your trip and you're free to keep all the fish you catch following size and creel limit laws.
Fish cleaning is available from a local fish cleaner whi will pick up your catch right at the marina and have them prepared for you quickly. Fishing cleaning rates are set by the fish cleaners.
The captain will provide all the tackle, bait, and ice for every trip, but you're always welcome to bring your favorite medium-action rod and reel if you want to. Before you go, just make sure you've packed your licenses, food, and drinks.

Couple of buddies got together to try a different style of fishing. Capatin Greg was awesome! He took the time to show us what we needed to do and did everything in his power to put us on fish. It was sort of a slow day for fishing but we all caught fish and had plenty to take him. The trip was a big success and Captain Greg was willing to share his knowledge with us rookies. Definitley recommend them for future trips.

Greg did such an amazing job and was very honest how they have been doing. We were texting the night before and he was explaining fishing really hasn't been the best for walleye because of the weather conditions. Kept a positive attitude going into the day and within 2 hours of being out there he had us on fish with 6 in the boat trying every spot he had in his chamber. Such a nice likable guy and very knowledgeable about the water he fishes daily. Grateful to be on his boat and having him guide me and my buddy. I've been on plenty of charters they definitely have little older boats but the experience completely disregarded it. Overall 10/10 GREG YOU ARE AMAZING, Garrett and I thank you!

This was our 2nd time fishing with Captain Ron of Mar-Lu fishing charters and we were once again treated to an excellent day of fishing. Unfortunately, Erie dealt us some rain, waves, and a tough bite, but Ron wouldn’t rest until we found some fish. Even on a day where the odds were against us, we still managed to come home with a freezer full of some nice walleye! If you’re looking for a fun day of fishing, we suggest booking with Mar-Lu!

We had the privilege of going out with Captain Ron of Mar-Lu Charters for a day of incredible Walleye fishing. Launching from Marblehead, we had a full party of 6 excited for a fun day on the water. Mar-Lu is a long time family owned business where comfort and connection is a clear priority. Unlike other charters I have been on in the past, every person in my party left 100% satisfied. Captain Ron showed us not only where the fish were, but provided the resources (bait, lures, lines, etc.) to ensure we were successful at brining in some Walleye! Additionally, we had some insightful fishing conversations, talked a little football, and even shared a few laughs. Not to mention, we limited out!!!! Realistically speaking, the day could not have gone any better. For anyone thinking about booking a trip with Mar-Lu, I advise you to do so ASAP. I guarantee that you will not leave disappointed.
