Hopefully, after a fun trip, you’ll have a cooler full of fish. The experienced Captain John will be with you to make sure of that.
You’ll be gliding the waters of Lake Erie western basin on the 27 ft Sportcraft (walkaround) model from 2001. The charter takes up to 6 guests per trip, and you will be happy to know there’s an onboard toilet for your convenience. The boat is 27’ long and it is equipped with a single Mercruiser engine with 310 HP that can reach speeds of 35 knots and a 15 HP Mercury trolling motor, this keeps things nice and slow for fishing!
They also offer a 1-3 person trip on a smaller 620 Ranger boat , for a reduced price of $500 for a 6 hour trip.
Due to increased marine fuel cost, a fuel surcharge can be added to trips longer than 12 miles.
The crew can take you to the nearshore and offshore locations of the western basin of Lake Erie, along with its reef locations. The clients can fish for Walleye and/or Yellow Perch depending on the season. You can choose from several fishing techniques like light tackle casting, bottom fishing, and trolling, just to name a few. It’s best you ask Captain John for recommendations!
Children of 10 years of age and older are welcome aboard. Be sure to purchase the online fishing license for Lake Erie fishing in Ohio, as the charter doesn’t cover it.
They do provide excellent fishing equipment and lures and some live bait on board.
The crew includes a first mate (when available).

Wonderful experience with Captain John and First Mate Scotty. Both were very knowledgeable and eager to teach us how to help and successfully catch lots of fish. Captain was in constant contact with me leading up to the trip specifically because there was a good chance of heavy rain and storms that day. Captain was committed to staying out as long as possible to ensure each one of us caught our limit of walleye (which we did after a brief dry spell) will definitely be heading back this year for another trip before the season ends.

A Captain for First Timers!!!
Walleye - Half Day Trip (AM) on June 19, 2024
Captain John and his deckhand were great. It was me, my 14-year-old son, and my 16-year-old daughter who have never been on a fishing charter and usually fish off the dock. We were looking to catch walleye and walleye did we catch. We caught over 13lbs of cleaned walleye to cook for dinner the day after the trip. If you are an amateur fisher and looking to get out on the lake to get the trolling fishing boat experience than H20 charters is a great choice!!!
