Come to Port Clinton & Lakeside/Marblehead, Ohio and discover the western basin of Lake Erie. H2oboss Charters are available for you to enjoy a safe and exciting trip on the waters of Lake Erie. Hopefully, after a fun trip, you'll have a cooler full of fish. The experienced Captain John will be with you to make sure of that.
You'll be cruising the waters of Lake Erie Western basin on the 27 ft Sportcraft (walkaround) model from 2001. The charter takes up to 6 guests per trip, and you will be happy to know there's an onboard toilet for your convenience. The boat is 27' long and it is equipped with a single Mercruiser engine with 310 HP that can reach speeds of 30 knots with a 15 HP Mercury trolling motor, this keeps things nice and slow for fishing!
They also offer a 1-2 person trip on a smaller 620 Ranger boat , for a reduced price of $550 for a 7 hour trip.
The crew can take you to the nearshore and offshore locations of the Western & Central basin of Lake Erie. The clients can fish for Walleye or Yellow Perch depending on the season. You can choose from several fishing techniques like light tackle casting, bottom fishing, and trolling, just to name a few. It's best you ask Captain John for recommendations!
This is YOUR TRIP, the clients can do as much or as little as they like on this trip. They can net the fish, set the equipment, of course reel in the fish and even choose the baits we use if you have a preference.
Children of 10 years of age and older are welcome aboard.
Be sure to purchase the fishing license for Lake Erie fishing in Ohio, as the charter doesn't cover it.
They do provide excellent fishing equipment and lures and some live bait on board.
The crew includes a first mate (when available).
Feel free to bring beverages and snacks in a small cooler for your day on the water,

They were patient with our two 12 year olds and were great at explaing everything. We still caught a good amoint of fish despite the fact that we had planned the trip at the end of the season. They added some additional time to our trip due to the fact we had to move locations to find the fish. They also helped us find a place to get the fosh cleaned and filleted. Overall it was a great experience, i would highly recommend booking with them, we are already talking about booking a trip with them during peak walleye season next spring.

Our party of five had been on deep sea charters before, but never on the Great Lakes. The weather wasn’t cooperating with our chosen date, but after putting it off a couple of days, the weather and seas could not have been better! The morning started slow, but it wasn’t long before business started to pick up. We ended up with 11 walleye including one 28 inch,7 nice channel cats and one white perch. Also caught several sheepshead that we threw back, but were fun to catch! Capt. John Ware knows his stuff and I would definitely recommend him! It was definitely the funnest day of my week vacation in Marblehead!

Walleye Fishing 4 hours or limit AM on September 30, 2023 • 5 adults • 1 childCaptain John and Deb were fun to hang out with and I would fish with them anytime! Walleye weren't biting, so we switched and ended up fishing for Perch and caught plenty. Captain John found the us hot spot and we were one of the boats in the area. By the end of the day the rest of the fleet out there had followed his lead, but by then we had already caught our fair share.

Being our first walleye charter, they took the time to explain the equipment, and teach the process of catching fish using the trolling method. The boat and the equipment were clean and well maintained and during the boat ride to the fishing spot, they identified points of interest throughout Lake Erie. The fishing was excellent and we hit our limit of fish for the day. When returning the dock, John coordinated the pickup and cleaning of our fish and stayed until Bays Edge arrived. John and Rick are both very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure our trip was a memorable one. Will definitely return again for future trips.

Our fishing trip with Captain John and his first mate was excellent. Both were very accommodating and patient with our crew who were mostly first timers, once we were shown the ropes we were off to the races and enjoying our day! The weather conditions were not ideal but John took us to areas that were less impacted and with their knowledge made sure we got our limit for the day. Much appreciated!
