Pesca Mares Capt. Alex invites you to spend an amazing time exploring offshore and inshore fishing in the Marathon area. Capt. Alex has been fishing in Florida waters for 20 years! The captain runs family-friendly fishing trips and loves to share fishing techniques as well as a strong belief that fishing is more than just catching fish! He also speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese languages.

You'll be fishing on a 28' Baha boat that accommodates up to 5 guests. This cuddy cabin is powered by twin 175 HP Suzuki engines that reach the maximum speed of 40 knots. The boat features safety gear, modern navigational electronics, outriggers, a live bait tank, and a cooler. You'll also be joined by the first mate on your trips.

The main targets on these trips are different types of Snapper, Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, and Blackfin Tuna. It all depends on how far off the shore you want to go and how challenging you want your trip to be. It doesn't matter if you've never fished before – you can learn everything you need to know right here.

All fishing equipment and licenses are included in the price. You only need to pack your food, drink, and sun protection.

Excellent Trip!

My 9 year old son and I were in Marathon for the weekend and we booked with Captain Alex. He was great.  He had us reeling in snapper in less than 10 minutes, and knew exactly when to shoft to new locations to keep the fishing biting.  Alex was an excellent teacher, especially with my son, who can be a bit impatient at times.  Alex made sure my son kept busy and reeled in as many as we could get.  He even spotted a hammerhead shark to make his day even more memorable, and offered a great dining spot for us to have our catch cooked.  Would definelty recommend!   Thanks Alex!!!

4 Hour Trip on February 27, 2026 • 2 adults

My wife and I took a 4-Hour trip with Alex yesterday. It was her first time fishing and my first time saltwater fishing. Alex was patient and coached us the entire time. He knew where to go to find the different species of fish and how to catch them. when we got there. When we returned, he cleaned the fish, and we had them cooked in the marina restaurant. They were delicious. Alex also took plenty of pictures and sent them to us at no charge. This was our first trip to the Keys, but if we come back, I would definitely book another trip with AGM and Alex

We caught fish immediately

4 Hour Trip (PM) on June 18, 2026 • 3 adults

We booked the four hour afternoon charter with Captain Alex. We immediately caught mangrove snapper upon arrival to our fishing spot. 

Captain Alex was very knowledgeable and was very helpful to the two family members that were beginner fishers.

After we got done, he cleaned the fish and then we went right next-door to the restaurant and ate our catch.  

It was an amazing and memorable experience.

Amazing Trip!

I booked this trip for my dad as a Christmas present. Captain Alex is the best! He was ready for an on time departure and was very knowledgeable and patient! He fished with us until we had fish to take home for dinner! He also helped us find some stone crabs from another fisherman when we returned to the docks. Captain Alex also cut our fish for us for dinner and recommended a restaurant that would cook them! I would give him a 10/10!!!

Great Trip!

2 hours sunset and litle fishing on January 9, 2026 • 2 adults

Our family enjoyed a short trip out on the Gulf. We were able to introduce our youngest daughter to fishing in the ocean for her first time with the rest of the family. (5 in total) Alex was a great teacher and we were all able to catch fish and enjoy the sunset on the water. Highly recommend for families and all looking for a fun fishing trip. We would love to come back and enjoy another trip out with Alex as our captain.
