Our family-friendly fishing trip offers a fun introduction to ocean fishing for beginners, families & kids (ages 7+).
Please note: Due to declining striper population we do not target Striped Bass on our trips.
We will target different inshore species depending on the time of year, including Cod, Pollock and Mackerel, after which we will haul lobster traps.
You’ll be fishing on a 22’ Boston Whaler that accommodates up to 4 guests who must be physically able to stand whilst fishing, and comfortably maneuver around a boat.
Captain Joe covers all of your fishing equipment and licenses. You only need to pack your drinks and snacks for the day and you’re ready to go.

We reached out to Captain Joe to plan for our anniversary trip and were pleasantly surprised with quick, and responsive communication. Day before trip he provided us with clear directions to his docking area where we were greeted with our choice of prepared tea or coffee before setting off to the bay. Captain Joe educated us of all the local fish species and many methods to have a sucessful day on our way out. So knowledgeable and has a way of making the day interesting for anyone! We immediately were put on to Mackrel, Atlantic Cod, skulcan, and many other species! With Captain Joes help and knowledge we were hauling up Lobster pots and learning how to properly measure and identify them. After an amazing day on the water, Captain Joe treated us with a Lobster caught on the trip! They were delicious. He truly went above and beyond and made it such an amazing trip for us! Highly recomend for any new or even the most experienced of anglers. Captain Joe kept the charter interesting the whole day with his vast knowledge and great personality. Would be an amazing time for kids as well!
Captain Joe gave us a great experience. We are complete novices, he made everything easy, and was very patient with my son. The joy on my son’s face when he caught so many fish, and pulled up the lobster traps was priceless. He was knowledgeable and andwered all of our questions. Highly recommend Captain Joe.
Thank you Captain Joe for another great trip out on the water! We saw everything from Porpoises, Harbor Seals, and Birds. We were successful in catching Pollocks, Mackerel,Cod, and Striper Bass! We absolutely can't thank him enough for the amazing time on the ocean every time! We'll be back :-)
Capt Joe runs a clean boat and uses top-line equipment to get you hooked on Maine fish. He takes the extra effort to make sure guests are comfortable and even uses chum to maximize chances. The keeper fish were gutted and we are happy customers, thanks again for a great time.
I would recommend this trip for anyone who likes to fish, and likes to learn. This is much more than a fishing trip. This is a class on fishing, ecological stewardship, and Maine coastal history. This would be a great trip for families.
