Welcome to Wahoodat Charters, a first-class fishing charter service based in Orange Beach, Alabama. Embark on the adventure and have fun exploring nearshore and offshore waters as well as reefs and wrecks around Orange Beach. Captain Corey Hebert will be there to make sure you have the best trip possible.
You’ll start your trip on a restored 38’ Topaz offshore sport fishing boat powered by twin 370 HP Cummins engines that can reach a maximum cruising speed of 23 knots. The boat uses full-featured navigation technology and is equipped with a livewell, a refrigerator, and a TV. It’s also air-conditioned and its facilities include a kitchen, toilet, shower, beds, and a flybridge. A first mate will also be on board to give you any help you may need. First mates also work for tips only. A customary tip is usually between 18-20%.
There’s a wide choice of fish to target in Orange Beach. Some of the species you can catch are Barracuda, Grouper, Wahoo, Red Snapper, and many more. You’ll catch them on light and heavy tackle by bottom fishing, deep sea fishing, trolling, spinning, and jigging. You can bring kids along on your trip and you’ll be keeping your catch.
Captain Corey will provide you with everything you’ll need for the trip. This includes all the fishing gear, licenses, as well as catch cleaning and filleting. You just bring your favorite food and drinks and you’ll be set for the adventure.
The captain donates back to a rare disease charity called syngap1 in honor of his daughter who was diagnosed in 2019. Make a difference, and make memories at the same time with Wahoodat Charters!

Trip of a lifetime. Unforgettable memories

We had the absolute best experience with Captain Corey and his first mate, Braden, on the Wahoodat Charter in Gulf Shores, Alabama! They made the trip unforgettable—not just for us adults, but for the kids as well. We limited out on red snapper and even landed a few other great catches, including king mackerel, triggerfish (which we released since it was on the smaller side), and mahi mahi. All because Corey and Braden were an excellent team, and Corey went to exactly where the fish were biting. If they didn’t bite in about 10 min we moved to a new location.
Braden did an incredible job managing all the poles on deck and making sure everyone had the support they needed. Captain Corey went above and beyond to make sure the kids had fun and felt included the entire time.
The Wahoodat was spotless—these guys take excellent care of their boat and clean it after every single trip. On top of that, some of the proceeds go toward supporting research for Syngap Syndrome, which is especially meaningful as Captain Corey’s daughter is affected by it.
This was hands down the best charter experience we’ve ever had. If you’re in Gulf Shores, booking with Wahoodat Charters is an absolute must. I can’t say enough amazing things about the entire experience!

Caught a mixed mess of fish!

According to the website, we were told we would catch Mahi Mahi, grouper, Amber Jack, along with others. Caption Crag was very up front to tell us that on a 6 hour trip, we would likely only catch red snapper, but he would try his best to put us on others. He stated that the website is through a 3rd party and they put what the need to to get people to book trips. WE LOVED HIS UPFRON HONESTY!!! With that said, we did catch our limit of reds, but we also caught some small Mahi Mahi (my fav!), trigger fish, Spanish mackerel, and a cobia. Max, the deck hand and Captian Corey were super stoked about the cobia. All in all, it was a great trip and we will definitely go with Corey again!

Great 1/2 Day Trip

Our offshore trip with Wahoodat Fishing Charters was nothing short of amazing. Captain Cory and deckhand Max made the whole experience smooth, exciting, and absolutely worth every penny.
Captain Cory knew exactly where to go — we hit our daily limit of red snapper, brought in a few Spanish mackerel, and even hooked into a shark that gave us a wild fight before breaking off. You can tell Cory’s experience and knowledge of the water runs deep.
Max, the deckhand, was outstanding. He worked nonstop, always ready with bait, gear, and help whenever we needed it. Super friendly, fast, and kept everything running like clockwork. You can tell he cares about making the trip enjoyable and productive.
The boat was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped for the job. Whether you’re an experienced angler or just out for the adventure, these guys will take care of you.
Highly recommend Wahoodat if you’re looking for a top-tier offshore charter. Great crew, great fishing, and memories we won’t forget!

Awesome first fishing trip!

My family and I wanted to have a memorable experience fishing in the gulf for the first time and got exactly that with Wahoodat Charters. Captain Corey was very knowledgeable and got us right where we needed to be to catch our limit of red snapper, a black snapper, some spanish mackerel and even an amberjack that we had to throw back due to being out of season. First mate Max was working hard all morning long baiting four rods and making sure everyone was having fun. The air conditioned cabin was also a big plus to have if you needed to escape the heat. We had a great time and would definitely come back. Thanks again!

Captain Cory and his deck had were top notch. Captain put us on the fish within less than a minute at each stop. We did encounter a pesky dolphin and had to move around to shake him. But each spot we were catching fish on 1st drops. Other charters I'm sure what have just sat around and blamed the dolphin for not catching many fish. But Captain Cory gave us all his effort to limit out on red snapper. We cought Spanish Mackral, Red Snapper and Triger fish.. And let me tell you about his deck hand. He didn't miss a beat. Keeping 6 rods going. There was 5 of us plus he was working a rod and would hand it off when a fish was hooked.. This guy was very knowledgeable, polite, and very experienced. This was our 1st charter on a off shore charter. I would definitely recommend to any 1st timer, or someone who as went multiple times. You will not regret it. Thank you Captain Cory, and Brayden for making our charter the highlight of family memories for a long time to come.
