These waters are home to Sharks, Mingos, Amberjack, Bluefish, Black Drum, Black Grouper, Red Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Pompano, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), and more, depending on the season. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light tackle.
Trips with Destin's Premier Fishing Experience are fun for all ages, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Capt. Mikey will bring you aboard a 2023 31' Sportsman center console with room for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
We provide dead bait. Live bait can be purchased by the charterer at the marina or bait boat on the way out into the Gulf. Live bait can also be caught on the way out, but I would recommend purchasing it on the shorter trips.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't forget to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Water is included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Caught 2 keeper grouper out of 3. hit our limit in snapper, mingo, and triggerfish, also caught 3 Mahi. We will definitely do it again.

Mikey was very adamant about keeping us on the fish and we caught several mingo snappers, mahi, and various other species. Mikey was a great guy and seemed very experienced on the gulf. Overall great trip. If i return to the gulf I will get ahold of these guys for another trip!

I had the pleasure of going out with Captain Mikey yesterday. It was a 10 hour trip. Mikey was very adamant about keeping us on the fish and we caught several mingo snappers, mahi, and various other species. Mikey was a great guy and seemed very experienced on the gulf. Overall great trip. If i return to the gulf I will get ahold of these guys for another trip!
We went out on an afternoon trip. Our captain was a super cool guy and taught us a lot. Played good music and made us very comfortable. We were busy catching fish all afternoon. I would definitely go again with this charter!
