Come to Akumal in Quintana Roo, Mexico and spend a fun day of fishing with Pio's Tours. Your captain is a local fisherman and scuba diver who's been living in the area for more than 45 years. He invites you nearshore and offshore to enjoy good service and take this experience back home. Come to Akumal and have a fun and enjoyable fishing trip!

You'll be fishing from a restored 25' Imemsa airboat that can take up to 6 guests. It runs on a 60 HP Yamaha engine. It uses a radio for navigation, features an ice-box to store your fish and drinks, and is equipped with outriggers and snorkeling gear. There will also be a first mate present during your trip to give you any help you may need.

You'll target Mahi Mahi, Marlin, King Mackerel, Sailfish, Jack Crevalle, Wahoo, Great Barracuda, and more. You'll attract fish by bottom fishing and trolling on light tackle and you can choose whether to keep or release your catch. You will share some of the catch with the crew. Kids are welcome to join aboard.

The captain will provide you with all the tackle, lures, fishing licenses, and drinks and will also clean and fillet your catch free of charge. What you should bring is just some food.

Great crew, big catch!

Great morning out on the water for our family of five. We'd originally been scheduled to go out the day before, but El Norte brought high winds that closed the port. Rescheduling for the next day was easy for the crew, luckily! I was extremely grateful for their flexibility since we were on a short vacation timeline. 

We reeled in an enormous king fish, which we enjoyed the next several days!! Very successful trip, highly recommend!

Captain Luis and his first mate worked hard and did a great job! We fished for two hours, got three bites and my son landed two barracudas. My son enjoyed his chat with Luis about fishing.  We then went swimming with turtles. Luis took the four of us on a tour, pointed out lots of fish and coral, then we got to see the turtles up close. Luis filleted one fish for us and we let him keep the other. A great day with lots of great memories! Thank you so much!

3 Barracuddas and a Bonito

Captain Alfredo and his mate were very nice, friendly and professional.  They were patient with our impatient kids and led us to several hits which netted us 3 big barracudas (yes we ate em) and a sweet bonito which we ate sashimi.. delicious.  My son and our group had a great time!

We really enjoyed our fishing trip and came home with three barracuda and a huge king fish! Our guides were quiet but kind and knowledgeable when we asked questions.
