You'll fish with Captain Ryan from a 22' Sweetwater pontoon boat that has room for up to 6 people. It's powered by a 115 HP Suzuki engine, uses a fishfinder system for navigation, and features an ice-box to store your fish and drinks.

You and the captain will use spinning on light tackle to attract your prey. The species you'll target are Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Flounder, Redfish, and Black Drum. You can choose whether you'll keep your catch and take it home or just release it back into the water.

Waymaker Charters will provide you with all the fishing gear, licenses, as well as fish cleaning and filleting. The gear includes rods, reels, tackle, live bait, as well as lures. All you need to bring is your favorite food and drinks.

Fun on the water:

Took my three grandchildren fishing with Capt. Ryan and had a great time. We first caught our bate and then tried to catch bigger fish. Although we didn’t catch much we had a great time trying. Sting rays showed up the last hour and put up a good fight to get them in the boat, the only way you can count the catch we learned! Great day in the OBX.

Great First Outing for Kids

My family has been out charter fishing before and we wanted to share the experience with my nephews and their dad. We had a great time catching croaker to start and then spent the rest of the time catching mullet, blue fish, a red drum, and rays for days! Ryan was great with the kids and all the equipment and boat were great too!

Had a great time with Ryan for our captain! He had a great attitude and sense of humor. Even though the fish werent really biting we did catch a bunch of stingray! Ryan made it fun and gave us a lot of useful tips. Book this and you will definitely have a great day!

Captain Ryan was a whole vibe. Not only was he knowledgeable, he was funny. 3 out of 4 caught stingrays…1 person in the group had 2 fish but the line broke both times and the fish got away. We would definitely book this fishing trip again in the future.

We caught a 44 inch red drum!! And like 3 more a little smaller than that, lots of sting rays, and some crabs! It was an amazing trip and my kids will never forget it. Our second time fishing with them and it’s always a blast.

    I want to start this by saying, at some point in your career you stop doing whatever you do,for the love of the game and begin doing it because, "it's your job". this was extremely noticeable here. man was on his phone with his buddies the whole time and at no point did we feel engaged. however, we did catch fish, we trolled for 6 hours. if you don't know what that is, you literally sit there while spinners are drug behind the boat for the last hour and a half, we seen and caught 1 fish. no problem though. have you ever spoken to someone and it wasn't as if they were listening but instead, they are just waiting for there turn to talk. this was that. I couldn't even finish my sentence before I was cut off. I guess my whole point of this is, be passionate about what you're doing in this field or don't do it at all. people spend damn good money to come out here to only be made to feel inadequate. I want to close with this, at the end of the day we did catch fish, but at no point do we feel we fished. our "captain" was more interested in talking to his buddy than showing us a good time. if you want to be sure to have a good time, do NOT go with any charter with less than a 5 stars! Find someone who has the passion and the want for you to have a good time!
