Rogezac Sportfishing is located in Los Angeles in San Pedro waters minutes away from the open ocean so you won’t spend too much time in the harbor. A 100 Ton USCG captain and CPR-certified. Capt. Roger has 32 years of experience, so you will definitely go home with fish guaranteed. He will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 4 to 12-hour trips, mainly fishing for Yellowtail, Halibut, Tuna, California Sheephead, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, Calico Bass, Rockfish, and Red Snapper, depending on the season and conditions on the day. On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, big game fishing, and jigging.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 30’ Steiger Craft boat that can safely take up to 4 anglers to the island and up to 6 anglers to the local waters. This boat comes with a toilet and an ice-box.
The boat provides 4 Shimano Baitrunner spinners for beginners and also has conventional reels for heavy game. We do have 2 electrical reels on board for deep drops when the captain decides they should be used. We also provide all hooks, weights, and bait. You can bring your own fishing poles if you like. If you are 16 and older, please make sure to bring a valid fishing license ahead of time. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip. Before you depart, just pack some food and drinks, and don’t forget your sunscreen and fishing licenses. Awesome experience!
We recently went on a fishing trip with Captain Roger and his first mate, Landon, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From start to finish, both Roger and Landon were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire time, and their passion for the ocean and fishing was evident. They were so attentive and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic time. We caught some amazing fish, and even our kids had a blast and learned so much from them. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip, and we will definitely be booking with them again in the future. Highly recommend Captain Roger and Landon for anyone looking for an unforgettable fishing adventure!

9 Hour Trip – Catalina
8 Hour Catalina Fishing trip of a lifetime!
My son wanted to go fishing with me as part of his bachelor party and invited his best friend since elementary as well as his father. The three had not spent much time fishing and only really went one time when I took them salmon fishing while on a cruise in Alaska a few years back but only for a couple of hours. I grew up fishing and have had many boats throughout the years but during my boys teen and young adult ages life just got in the way and I was not able to pass on what I had learned from my family and friends who taught me since I was a boy. I looked for a highly rated charter that could assist in teaching them how to hook the bait, cast and the technique to be successful at catching the fish after they ran with the bait. I could not be more pleased with the trip we took with Rogezac Sportfishing and Roger as our Captain, Guide, Teacher and overall, Champion. The day started perfect as the weather was wonderful and the trip to the island was fast and comfortable Roger definitely had the patience, skills and local knowledge to put us on the fish all day long. With his contacts he was able to get us some of the Candy Bait, live squid, from his friends and contacts at the Island and it really made our day even more successful with such premium bait that the bait receivers did not have, again another reason to choose the right charter and Roger and Rogezac Sportfishing made it all happen for us. We caught our limits of huge Calico Bass as well as catching many other species such as huge Blue Perch and some breezing Barracuda including one legal one. Since we were constantly on the Calico bite we were able to be selective on the size we kept and had such a blast catching and releasing so many that the day was completely filled with fantastic new memories as well as giving my son and the others the fishing bug where they have been calling all of their friends as they want to get back out there with Roger to do it all over again and again. Even though I have my own boat, having Roger handle everything for us made it much better than I could ever have done on my own and allowed me to really enjoy the fishing I have missed for so long as well as to be catered on for everything to do with tackle, rigging, bait and advice as well as the decades of local knowledge made this trip one of the best trips ever as I was able to share it with my son and friends and found a new friend in Roger. I would recommend Roger and Rogezac Sportfishing to anyone who is looking for a hassle-free adventure that you will never forget as well as ending looking for your next adventure with them.

11 Hour Trip – Catalina
Full Day with Captain Roger
My recent fishing trip to Catalina Island was absolutely spectacular—truly a dream come true. From start to finish, every moment was filled with excitement, beauty, and incredible wildlife encounters. Captain Roger was so professional and considerate with my son (age 9) and he also made the trip really comfortable for me as a woman who has never fished before. Captain Roger was incredibly knowledgeable about the best fishing spots. Everywhere we dropped a line we pulled up fish! We caught an impressive total of 26 fish, including red snapper, chucklehead, starry backs and groupers —all in a single trip! Watching our effort pay off with such a bountiful catch was incredibly rewarding. After our fishing, we headed to a spot on the beach on Catalina where we cooked our fresh catch right over an open fire. I cannot recommend this adventure more highly!

From communication before the trip and up to the morning of our charter, he was very responsive. The boat was well equipped and the first mate was friendly and helpful. Roger, the Captain, knew all the spots to catch fish. We fished with him for two days and caught a lot of fish and a huge variety. He is very attentive to detail. He asked what we were going to do with our fish and when we said we ship it home, he offered to find us a packing/shipping company. When he could not find one so early in the season, he came up with a solution. He vacuum sealed and shipped it himself! Now that is top shelf service. I am not that experienced and he made me feel welcome and helped me. On the other hand, my husband is a very experienced angler and he respected that. As a VERY Special treat, he made Ceviche with the fresh snapper we caught! That is over and above service. We felt like honored guests in his home. The fact that he is good at his job is because he loves what he does and that is evident. If you are looking for a charter out of Long Beach, do yourself a favor a book with Captain Roger of ROGEZAC Fishing. He also owns Leahklea SPORTFISHING. This is a family owned and operated business. We can’t wait to eat the fish we caught!

We charted Captain Roger's boat for a half day trip. It included 3 adults and 2 children, ages 12 and 10. The trip went awesome and Captain Roger and his deckhand Nick were great. They were informative and made the entire trip a total success. We ended catching a total of 17 fish and Captain Roger was the one who ended up disappointed in the end. He was going for 20. Overall it was a great trip for the adults and the kids. I would highly recommend Captain Roger for any charter fishing trips you are looking to book.

My son wanted to go fishing with me as part of his bachelor party and invited his best friend since elementary as well as his father.
