Grassy Sound Charters serves Surf City & Topsail Island (North Topsail & Topsail Beach). We are convenient to the Greater Wilmington area and only 25 minutes from the ILM airport.
The USCG Veteran crew is amongst the safest and most professional that you will find in the industry. We will do our very best to make sure you have a safe, enjoyable, and productive time on the water. This includes 3 to 10-hour trips, mainly fishing for Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Snapper, Grouper, Seabass, Mahi-Mahi, Tuna and Wahoo depending on the season and conditions on the day. Our qualifications, experience and knowledge are far reaching and what makes us a truly professional operation.
You will be riding on a 31' Cape Horn center console boat that can comfortably take up to 6 persons. It is fast, dry, comfortable, and a head-turner! Whether you are looking for a laid-back trip on the coast or a hardcore fishing adventure offshore, this is the charter you have been looking for!
All rods, reels, terminal tackle, bait, and fishing licenses are included in the price so you can focus on enjoying yourself. Fish cleaning service is available after your trip. Be sure to bring an adequately sized cooler and account for the added time it will take to clean your catch.
A Mate will accompany all fishing charters and works for tips. 20% of the total trip price is customary.
No glass bottles or spray sunscreen allowed onboard the vessel.

I booked this charter as a gift for my fiance and his adult sons. From the first communication with Captain Anthony, it was a fantastic experience. My fiance and his sons thoroughly enjoyed their time on the water. Captain Anthony and his first mate are very skilled, knowledgeable and accomodating. They saw and caught a large variety of fish and very much enjoyed the boat. They truly enjoyed their experience. We highly recommend booking a charter with this company!

Captain Anthony and Sam were great at finding all the right spots, so my fiancé and I were able to catch bonitos and sea bass. They were awesome at answering our questions and throwing out cool facts about what we were catching. When we got back to the pier they cleaned and cut the fish for us so we could get to enjoying everything we caught! I highly recommend using them for your next deep sea fishing trip!

captain was knowlegeable and very friendly, deck hand was betond helpful and very attentive to everyones needs! put us on some spanish mackeral early on and finished the day bottom fishing catching seabass as fad as we could drop out lines! we will certainly be back again!! A1 service and would recommend to anyone that wants a good day on the water!!!

Capt Anthony was great, very knowledgable!! First boat trip with the boys and they got a little sick but Capt Anthony still got us on some Bonitos!! Highly recommend!! Even ifyou have young kids they will have a great experience and learn. Will be back!

we started trolling and missed the first strike but got some luck on the second and landed by a king mackeral followed by a mahi mahi. everyone in our party of 6 got action thanks to Capt Anthony. a wonderful experience.

My love for the ocean was born on Grassy Sound Channel. My earliest memories were walking out the back door of the 'minnow shack,' and down a 100 yard pier to board my Grandfather's Penn Yan boat for a flounder trip. This passion led me to a degree in Marine Biology, and a career in the United States Coast Guard. I greatly enjoy helping others make lifelong memories on the water. Whether it is catching lots of fish, seeing turtles and dolphins, or just simply enjoying time out on the water, I strive to provide a safe and enjoyable way to do so! Personally, I enjoy getting offshore and fishing for Mahi and Wahoo. There is nothing like finding the right water conditions after doing your homework and then capitalizing on the bite! Great times have been had bailing Mahi off a weed line and hearing the unforgettable sound of a drag screaming while on the troll!
