Grassy Sound Charters serves Surf City & Topsail Island (North Topsail & Topsail Beach). We are convenient to the Greater Wilmington area and only 25 minutes from the ILM airport.
The USCG Veteran crew is amongst the safest and most professional that you will find in the industry. We will do our very best to make sure you have a safe, enjoyable, and productive time on the water. This includes 3 to 10-hour trips, mainly fishing for Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Snapper, Grouper, Seabass, Mahi-Mahi, Tuna and Wahoo depending on the season and conditions on the day. Our qualifications, experience and knowledge are far reaching and what makes us a truly professional operation.
You will be riding on a 31' Cape Horn center console boat that can comfortably take up to 6 persons. It is fast, dry, comfortable, and a head-turner! Whether you are looking for a laid-back trip on the coast or a hardcore fishing adventure offshore, this is the charter you have been looking for!
All rods, reels, terminal tackle, bait, and fishing licenses are included in the price so you can focus on enjoying yourself. Fish cleaning service is available after your trip. Be sure to bring an adequately sized cooler and account for the added time it will take to clean your catch.
A Mate will accompany all fishing charters and works for tips. 20% of the total trip price is customary.
No glass bottles or spray sunscreen allowed onboard the vessel.

Perfect day with lots if bonitos caught!

Captain Anthony and Sam were great at finding all the right spots, so my fiancé and I were able to catch bonitos and sea bass. They were awesome at answering our questions and throwing out cool facts about what we were catching. When we got back to the pier they cleaned and cut the fish for us so we could get to enjoying everything we caught! I highly recommend using them for your next deep sea fishing trip!

Awesome Trip!!!

Capt Anthony was great, very knowledgable!! First boat trip with the boys and they got a little sick but Capt Anthony still got us on some Bonitos!! Highly recommend!! Even ifyou have young kids they will have a great experience and learn. Will be back!

End of summer fishing

Captain Anthony and his mate "Sam" were wonderful! We went pretty far out and did trolling but had limited success there. Then we did some bottom fishing where we caught at least 50 fish. Only about half were legal size but that was more than enough for us. The boat was very nice, well-equipped, clean. Both the captain and mate we're very personable and engaging. Very efficient at fishing. Definitely watermen to the core. We had an excellent and fun trip!

We had a great time with Captain Anthony! All we asked for was to catch some fish. Captain Anthony promised we would, and we did! The “main event” of our trip was when we caught a 15-lb stingray, but we caught a nice variety of different fish (including pigfish, sea bass and a puffer fish). Captain Anthony was very knowledgeable, responsive and made it fun for the three kids we had on the boat. Would definitely recommend him with full confidence!
