SpearIt Charters holds the distinguished position of Rhode Island's #1-ranked fishing charter.
Our vessel is a 38-foot Libby Downeast fishing boat, powered by a 450 hp Cummins engine, and is Coast Guard approved for operations exceeding 100 miles offshore. It is outfitted with advanced electronics, including fish-finding CHIRP sonar, GPS, AIS, and radar, to ensure both safety and a successful outing. The vessel also features a restroom for your convenience.
Captain David has been an active commercial fisherman in Rhode Island since the age of 15. He is a competitive free diver and a US national spearfishing champion. Currently, he holds the world record for spear gun-caught striped bass (68.5 lb) and pole-speared striped bass (52.5 lb). Captain David has over 20 years of experience operating charters.
We accommodate both novice and experienced anglers, including friends and families. Regardless of your chosen charter, Captain David and his crew are committed to providing an enjoyable and secure experience on the water.

We had an absolutely amazing experience! We booked this trip to celebrate our son's 10th birthday, and it couldn't have been more perfect. It was his very first fishing trip, and the captain made it an unforgettable experience from start to finish. He was incredibly friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, taking the time to teach my son the basics and making sure he felt comfortable and excited throughout the trip. The atmosphere was fun, relaxing, and family-friendly, and you could tell the captain genuinely loves what he does. Watching our son catch fish and create memories he'll cherish forever was priceless. If you're looking for a professional, experienced, and welcoming fishing charter, we highly recommend booking with them. We'll definitely be back for another adventure!
Captain Dave & Matt provided a fantastic day for us all. He went out of his way to get to a pkace where he knew the fish were biting because he knew a bunch of areas were a bit slow. My 3 grandsons caught 15 fish between them. They are calling it the best day ever and cant stop talking about it! Dave and Matt wotked eithbthem the while time and stayed engaged while the adults got to fish also. They kids caught more than we did… and Dave tsught me a fee new thing on too of it all! I highly recommend booking a ttop eith them!!

Captain Dave and First Hand Matt are simply the best. My 6 year old son and I just had the absolute best time. The day was non-stop action. From catching our own live bait (mackerel) 3 and 4 at a time. To the real fun of hooking 40 pound stripers we had “fish on” all the time. in addition both Matt and Dave did everything they could to help my son fish like a champ. He was literally bring in fish as big as he was. Thank you to them for being the highlight of our July 4 weekend.

My buddies and I have been out with Spearit four times over the past two years and the term that comes to mind every time is “world class” and this trip was the best of them all. I can’t even beging to describe the insanity. Five people hooked up to 40+ inch stripers at the same time on multilple drifts. Light tackle, drag screaming. The fishing experience of a lifetime. Dave and Matt are awesome. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Book Spearit.

Captain Dave and Matt are excellent! Clearly knowledgeable about fishing, but also friendly and conversational. Went out with just my high school son, and he caught the most fish. As a boat we maxed out on Black Seabass and caught some good sized Fluke and scup. We were sent home with bags of filleted fish. On the way to the car he said it was the best charter he’s ever been on. Great morning!!

I was raised fishing in Rhodes Island waters, and I have commercially fished RI for 35 years. I have run charters for over 20 years. The ocean is one of my greatest passions. When I was younger, I was a competitive freediver/spearfisherman and US national spearfishing champion. I am fortunate to hold two world records. The world record speared Striped Bass and pole-speared Striped Bass. Spearit also holds the largest Albacore tuna rod & reel Rhode Island state record. If you have no experience fishing, we are happy to help you learn.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
