Narragansett has a fish with your name on it, so let Great Run Fishing Charters help you catch it! With Captain Charlie at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.

These waters are known for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Porbeagle Shark, Thresher Shark, Blue Shark, Flounder, Black Seabass, Scup (Porgy), Tautog, and more – with any luck, you'll find out for yourself! You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks!

Your day begins aboard a 31' JC downeast that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures and bait. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 20% to show your appreciation.

There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Great Run Fishing Charters!

Great Day on The Great Run
6 Hour Trip – Block Island AM on July 3, 20266 adults

Captain Charlie put us on over 20 Stripers at Block Island. Some of the biggest fish any of us in the group had ever caught. Would highly recommend chartering through Great Run. New clean boat, knowledgeable and professional and a great first mate; a very enjoyable day for our crew!

Lucky catch
5 hour Block Island (PM) on August 8, 20252 adults4 children

We were staying in Block Island. I feel lucky we connected with Charlie. Our crew of 4 teenage boys and 2 dads caught over 100 fish. They brought home the most delicious sea bass that we devoured. Half of our crew have logged many hours of fishing in local streams. Half have never fished before. Charlie and his mate, Willie, were the highlight of our week on block island. We met him at Champlin’s and in case the docks were full, there were small boats that were ready to bring us out to him $5/person. If you are on the fence, i recommend you book now. What an amazing catch.

Reported catch:
Black Seabass
Scup (Porgy)

Great family trip
4 Hour Trip – Inshore (PM) on July 23, 20256 adults

Had an awesome time with Charlie and Willy. Went with 3 kids (16-11) and 3 adults. Did the 4hr pm inshore. Most of us lost count of our catch count, but my 11 year old daughter kept close tabs on her 23 catches. We must have had over 100 total catches. Came close to the max total you can keep for black sea bass. Also caught a few flukes, scup and a couple of sharks! Charlie had us on the fish the entire time. He and Willy were running around the whole time. Super friendly and helpful. Willy did a masterful job filleting. Kids had an amazing time and can’t stop talking about it. We would highly recommend!

Great Run is the best!
4 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) on July 21, 20254 adults

Dear Captain Charley: my nephew, his sons and I joined you last week for a 4 hour inshore trip. You were wonderful and extremely helpful. I’m elderly but you were right by my side helping me navigate the boat and educating all of us. We caught our limit of Sea Bass, 3 Fluke, and 2 Scup. We had a wonderful Bass dinner and leftovers. Catching a Sea Bass was on my bucket list ✔️. As a lifelong fisherwoman, I have had numerous experiences with fishing charters. None compared to Great Run!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM ABOVE ALL OTHERS.

Capt Charlie has been fishing since the age of 3 and loves being on the water. My best days are when I can teach somebody (especially kids) something about the ocean, and catch some fish too!
