Capt. John will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 4- to 6-hour trips, mainly fishing for striped bass, fluke, Black Sea bass, bluefish and blackfish. Seabass, Flounder, Shark, Bluefish, and Tautog, depending on the season and conditions on the day. On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, jigging, and spinning.
Your fishing adventure starts on a restored 31' JC downeast boat that can safely take up to 6 anglers. This boat comes with a toilet and an ice-box.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an incredible experience with JL Charters! My wife, my sister, my brother-in-law, and I booked a half-day fishing trip, and it exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we left the dock, the captain was professional, friendly, and clearly knew exactly where to find the fish. We were on fish almost immediately and stayed busy catching them throughout the trip. We landed a great variety of species, including fluke, sea bass, scup, dogfish, and robin fish. We brought home more than enough fresh fish for an amazing dinner! A huge shoutout to our deckhand, Sean, who worked nonstop to make sure everyone had a great time. He was patient, knowledgeable, quick to help with baiting hooks, untangling lines, and making sure we were catching fish. His hard work and positive attitude really made the trip even better. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect, the boat was comfortable, and the entire crew made us feel welcome from start to finish. Whether you’re an experienced angler or it’s your first time out, I can’t recommend JL Charters enough. We’ll definitely be booking another trip the next time we’re in Rhode Island. Thanks again to the Captain John and Deck Hand Sean for an unforgettable day on the water!
Fishing on the J.L eith John and Sean was an absolute 5 star trip. 3 min into the line hitting the wster it was fish after fish after fish. Think we landed a little better than 2 dz between the four of us who were on board with John and Sean. Deff reccomend jumping on with JL CHARTER. Thank you giys for a fantastic fishing experience!!
Captain John and Chris were both phenomenal! We wanted to catch to eat and they ensured we went to the best locations to bring home some fish. They even made recommendations on how to cook our catch. Both were very knowledgeable and patient, and we all learned so much about the area and the fishing industry. We experienced some rough conditions throughout the first half of the charter, and both John and Chris did a great job making us feel safe and confident on the water despite the roughness. If you’re looking to have a great fishing experience with true locals, this is your charter.
Had a tremendous time with our family for Father’s Day. The crew was knowledgeable, patient, and very helpful/hands on. We had a young child (3.5yo) on board and they made sure he stayed safe, was engaged, and equally had a great time. Would absolutely recommend this charter!
Captain John Lee and second mate chris, were on top of their game! We ened up catching alot of 30 pound striped bass and markel to tak home. Overall experience was phenomenal and I would highly recommend fishing with JL Charters!
