Captain Lacy Ingram and Reel Stubborn Fishing Charters welcome you to Pompano Beach. Captain Lacy has fished South Florida waters for over 30 years. He’s passionate about catching fish no matter what species and works hard to make his clients happy. On a slow day, he’ll spend extra time to put you on the fish! Yes, extra of his own time! His goal is to put you on the fish, so if there are any questions you may have, don’t hesitate to ask!
Your trip starts on a brand new 30’ Conch center console that can fit 4 guests. It runs on twin 300 HP Mercury engines and uses all the modern GPS, fishfinder, radio, and radar technology for efficient navigation. The boat features a 45-quart cooler with ice for you to use. Also, there’s a livewell if live bait is requested.
You can fish the reefs for some dinner or take your chances on big pelagic fish. It’s usually non-stop action! If there is a certain species available at the time of your booking, you and the captain can discuss different options for the day. It’s all up to you. Kids are welcome to join the trip and you’ll be keeping the fish you catch.
The choice of species that dwell in the area includes Mahi Mahi, sailfish, blackfin tuna, kingfish, shark, Wahoo, and many more. You can use various techniques to reel them. To name just a few, you can spin, troll, and kite fish.
The trip includes everything but your food and drinks, so make sure you bring some before you depart.

Captain Lacy made our trip one for the memory books! We went out at 7 a.m. and only had one bite the entire day, right up until we were about to head in. Captain Lacy is all about trying to get you that one big catch, especially on a slow day, and I experienced this firsthand.
We were on the water about ten minutes past our reserved time when one of the lines took off. Captain Lacy knew right away that it was big and set us up for success immediately. Once we wrestled the fish to the surface, he brought it aboard and wasted no time setting another line. The bait had barely hit the water when we heard the reel unspool!
After a tough battle, we pulled in the second of a pair of monster 4-foot kingfish. My buddy and I were thrilled to land anything on a day that had seemed bleak, and we could tell Captain Lacy felt the same way. Captain Lacy was awesome, very nice and we enjoyed our conversations with him. He knows the area well, boat and equipment were top notch.
It was a slow day for everyone out there, but he never gave up and it paid off.
We were among the few who caught fish, we caught both barracudas and king mackerel. We loved it, thanks Reel Stubborn Fishing for a great day!

Absolutely phenomenal experience with Captain Lacy on the Reel Stubborn! From the moment we stepped aboard, Captain Lacy struck the perfect balance between being professional, welcoming, and playful, making the trip both seamless and incredibly fun.
The Reel Stubborn was the ideal vessel for our adventure, just the right size to offer both comfort and safety while easily handling the ocean’s swells. You could tell this boat was made for serious fishing, but with plenty of room to relax and enjoy the ride.
We booked the six-hour trip, and it couldn’t have been better. It gave us enough time to switch target species mid-trip, starting with Kingfish and then shifting gears to chase tuna and barracuda. Captain Lacy’s knowledge and flexibility were top-notch.
Thanks to his expert guidance and hands-on tips, we pulled in a great number of fish! He walked us through how to get them to the boat quickly and efficiently, no matter what your experience level. He also had multiple types of rods on hand, tailored to different skill sets and strengths, making each catch a totally unique and thrilling experience.

Great day on the water with Captain Lacey and first mate Paul. Within minutes of our first cast we had our first keeper and the action never stopped. We had simultaneous fish on 3 of 4 lines twice and brought in a total of 12 fish including Bonita, kings, tuna and a barracuda in just a few hours of our morning run. Captain and Paul did a great job keeping the baits loaded and lines working and boat was a perfect ride. They were slammed bust but made it look so easy and organized. Super prepared and professional. Great guys and guides who shared their tricks and were full of local knowledge. Will definitely head out again with this great crew and recommend them for anglers of every level. Thank you Paul and Captain for a perfect family fishing trip!

We had a fun time on this charter. caught a mahi mahi night away, we didnt get anymore bites after that but the captain did all he could to try to get more before the storm rolled in that cut our time short. he was fun to visit with and it was a clean boat.
