YB Normal is docked in the heart of Fort Lauderdale, ready and waiting to take groups out for a great day on the water. Captain Vinnie offers a range of trips, with four to eight-hour packages and the choice of coming as a group or jumping aboard a shared charter. With this many options, there is no excuse not to go fishing!

The YB Normal is a 43’ Torres sportfishing boat which has seen regular maintenance since the day she was built and makes for the perfect place for groups of six anglers enjoy a great day’s fishing. She has a comfortable, air-conditioned interior with a bathroom, galley, and plenty of space to relax in between bites.

She is also loaded with a literal boatload of equipment and tech to make sure you get some great catches. The latest electronics from Garmin and Furuno will sound out the deep and have you always fishing in the right spot. Outriggers and downriggers will maximize your spread and target species, and a fighting chair will let you hold your own against whatever you hook.

What you target will depend on the trip you choose. Half day charters will mainly drift and bottom fish around local reefs, targeting bottom species as well as a few fast-moving fish like King Mackerel and Bonito. Full and ¾ days can have you targeting anything from Tilefish to Sailfish, depending on what you want to get out of your trip.

Want to beat the heat and get some awesome catches while you do so? Book in for a nighttime Snapper charter, anchoring over local reefs as the sun goes down to target the big Yellowtail, Mangrove, and Mutton Snapper which come out after dark.

Whatever you do, you are in for a great time, with an experienced captain, quality equipment, and a whole ocean of awesome fish just waiting for someone to drop a hook in front of them. It might as well be you, right?

Captain Vinnie operates the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and has worked aboard other boats in the area all his life. He loves being out on the water and getting groups on awesome fish. His favorite fish to catch is Black Grouper, but a huge part of what makes fishing so fun for him is never knowing what is going to bite next. This is what makes bottom fishing so fun for him - you can never tell what will take your bait!

Good Start To June In Fort Lauderdale
Good Start To June In Fort Lauderdale
June 9, 2021
Hello Everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this weeks report is a good one to start out our summer fishing in Fort Lauderdale so lets get to it, as of late there has been some steady action both inshore and offshore in Fort Lauderdale, lets start off on the reef we have been having much success while trolling the reef in search of king mackeral which have been plentiful a well as bonito, morning charters have been best for them as of late as well as trolling in depths from 90-160 feet just on the drop off. There has been some blackfin tuna as well in the deeper waters like 200-300 feet later afternoon has been best for them and the smaller size fish have been being caught on trolled feathers where as the bigger blackfin Ttuna close to 20lbs are still around and they are a fan of live bait fished from a kite like sailfish do, like I said later afternoons have been best for them as well as any day with overcast conditions, As we venture further offshore there has been some mahi mahi or dolphin moving through in depths around 800 feet I have been catching them somewhat regularly when I venture out there but you need to find something to fish to like birds or debris, most of the fish I caught this week were on frigate birds which eventually lead me to a weed line or some sort of floating object, this time of year when venturing off the coast of fort Lauderdale. in search of mahi mahi live bait is key to success if you find a school of dolphin, mahi are very aggressive and the live bait with produce an almost immediate strike, the live bait of choice would be a smaller baitfish called a pilchard. This week also we have been catching some nice wahoo one of my favorite to eat we have been catching them on some of the debris floating by while fishing a planner with a bonito strip always a lucky catch when getting them that way. As far as bottom fishing goes this week it has been somewhat slow most days there has been very very fast current which has made it very tough to fish certain spots, but on the days the current is light we have been catching some vermillion and yelloweye snapper both great eating. Plenty of great pictures this of some recent catches this week so make sure to check those out. We do have some availability for the month of June left so if your coming down to fort Lauderdale make sure to check us out the fishing is heating up... As always be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on instagram @Ybnormalsportfishng for daily fishing reports and photos. Tight lines Capt. Vinnie More later....
Ending The Month With A Bang
Ending The Month With A Bang

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here great report this week for you guys I know I haven't given you guys one recently because we have been very busy but here is a great one to wrap up the month of may. As of late the fishing in Fort Lauderdale has been sporadic some days better then others, some days so good you dont even want to come in when time is up and other days seems like a struggle to catch a few fish, but thats fishing and thats what keeps us coming back! This week has been one of those weeks with some epic days of fishing some of the best I have seen this year, starting off trolling the reef kingfish have been hard to come by as well as bonito not to many around right now but they should be biting fairly steady in the next coming weeks, when the conditions have been right there has been a fair amount of wahoo around due to the moon cycle and very clean water and heavy currents seems to concentrate them best off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, trolling is the primary way to catch them while on a deep sea fishing charter, seawitches with bonito strips are the go to followed by a blue spoon, wahoo like faster moving baits so trolling a bit quicker. then normal is a great way to get there attention, focusing on the depths of water from 200-400 feet is best also trolling over ship wrecks that are located off the coast of Fort Lauderdale is a good Idea as well. While fishing for wahoo, tuna is a great by catch, larger sized blackfin tuna have been off the coast of fort Lauderdale the last few days, tuna are great fighting fish as well as excellent on the table served raw or grilled you can't go wrong. Just on the deeper side of the reef there has been a few summer time sailfish biting, fishing with live bait under a kite has been best live goggle eyes would be the bait of choice, sailfish is a great gamefish and fun to catch with there speed and acrobatics. A further offshore report: mahi have been some what plentiful this week on our longer deep sea fishing charters we have been making a run around 8 miles offshore for mahi it is a little early in the season for them but if you can find something to fish to like birds or debris most likely the mahi are not far behind. This week I have some great photos of some recent catches including 2 giant wahoo we recently caught on our deep sea fishing charters so please be sure to check those out, another busy week this week but there is some availably for the month of June so if your thinking of getting out on the water June is a great time, as always please be sure to follow us on facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and repots... Early Summer Fishing In Fort Lauderdale
Early Summer Fishing In Fort Lauderdale
May 19, 2021
Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here this weeks report will be a good one so lets get to it. This week in Fort Lauderdale the fishing has been very good with lots of different species biting, this week has been slightly a little bit on the windy side and kind of unusual weather for the month of May, Fishing daily seems this week the afternoon trips has been better sometimes that happens but thats what makes fishing fun is never knowing what is going to happen, we will start of with the morning, morning trips have been somewhat productive when the seaweed is not out of control, as of late seaweed has been a real problem lately and some days almost unfishable which makes it very tough on the crew in order to keep baits clean, anyways mornings have been producing mostly king mackeral and bonito on the reef best baits as of late has been seawitches with bonito strips fished on the surface as well as under the surface behind planners. The bite in the morning has been in depths from 80-140 feet of water. Afternoon fishing has been where the action has been I wish I knew the answer why the fishing has been better in the afternoon lately but I dont, anyways afternoons have been having a great tuna bite fishing anywhere from 180-350 feet of water trolling the same thing we do on the reef for king mackeral and bonito but its important to fish for natural colors for tuna as they have big eyes and keen eyesight, also while fishing for tuna there has been a few wahoo around always a nice surprise to catch one of those. Also believe it or not sailfish have been quite plentiful recently also which is always nice to have a chance at such a great gamefish, offshore there has been plenty of mahi mahi but they have been a little bit on the smaller size but there has been some bigger fish mixed in searching for debris and birds has been the best bet for dolphin, anytime there is a hard wind from the south east or east there is a very good chance for mahi mahi, I would expect some good mahi fishing after this week and all the wind we are having so be on the look out for that in next weeks report. This week we have some great photos so be sure to check those out, a beautiful sailfish as well as a wahoo and a group of 6 guys that has a great time out with us on there first deep sea fishing charter, we still have some availability left for the month of May so if your looking to do some deep sea fishing now is a great time to do so, remember to follow us on social media platforms like instagram and facebook @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and reports. Tight lines Capt. Vinnie
