Captain Oscar comes from a fishing family and would like to share his passion and knowledge with you. When fishing with Osmak Fishing Quepos, you can count on a great time on the water and high chances of landing a catch. Join in and create beautiful memories fishing in Costa Rica!

Your adventure will take place on a restored 26’ Eduardoño motor yacht, adequately equipped to provide a comfortable and safe trip. It runs on a 200 HP Suzuki engine and features GPS and a fishfinder in order to keep you on the course all the time. The boat has got an ice-box, snorkeling gear, and a livewell. On board will also be a first mate to give you all the help you might need.

The excellent fish species you can catch include Mahi Mahi, Papuan Black Snapper, Red Snapper, Sailfish, Pacific Barracuda, and African Pompano. To reel them in, you can use bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, and handline techniques. It’s all up to you whether you’ll keep or release the fish you catch.

Captain Oscar takes care of everything you need for a fantastic day on the water, from all the fishing gear and bait to catch cleaning to licenses, as well as snacks and drinks. The only thing left for you to do is arrive on time and prepare for a great trip.

A great day had by all!!

Full Day trip – Inshore on November 12, 2025 • 2 adults

Oscar and crew took fantastic care of us on our full day offshore fishing trip! They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. They didn't waste time with rigging that did not catch fish and changed up the baits often. My wife was a bit inexperienced, and Oscar took the extra time to teach her how to properly use the equipment and reel in a fish. We caught two yellow tail tuna and hooked up on a real nice Billfish. On the way back to the marina I mentioned I would love to catch a rooster fish so Oscar spent some extra time trying to make that happen. Although unsuccessful, the effort was extremely appreciated. We would highly recommend Oscar for your next fishing adventure in Costa Rica!

Put me on a TROPHY Rooster-fish

My wife and I booked a charter with Oscar at Osmak Fishing Charters with one goal in mind: to catch a roosterfish. Oscar not only delivered but put me on an ABSOLUTE TROPHY roosterfish! He was incredibly helpful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the trip. From water, juice, soda, and beer to fresh fruits and snacks, he had us covered. Both Oscar and his mate were super friendly, easy to talk to, and made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. I 100% recommend fishing with Oscar and his crew to anyone looking to fish while in Costa Rica. PURA VIDA!!

Very good for new sportfishers with an experienced crew

Full Day trip – Offshore on January 17, 2025 • 4 adults

The captain and his mate were incredibly kind to us and very helpful for us that were new to sport fishing. Very quickly, they led us onto several sailfish, of which we landed 2 of them. Unfortunately for our trip, we did not land any tuna, but it was definitely not for lack of trying. The captain and his hand worked very hard trying different places, changing tactics, and racing around to new hotspots. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an experienced and hardworking crew.

Perfect 5 hours of fishing!

Half Day Trip – Inshore Fishing AM on January 1, 2025 • 2 adults

Excellent day out with Oscar. After fishing for live bait, which took about one hour, we got on the fish almost immediately. We were complete novices but caught two Jacks and two Rooster fish, plus plenty that got away!!! We fished further down the coast away from the marina, towards the national park with empty beaches. A fun morning out with my son who was ecstatic on catching two big fish.

Great fishing trip, Oscar really knows his game.

Full Day trip – Inshore on April 16, 2025 • 2 adults • 1 child

Great trip, with my 15 year old daughter and 13 old son, we all enjoyed the fishing and Oscar and crew are great and always making sure everything was taking care off. We landed a big yellow fin Tuna and a Sailfish, we had a bite for a second one. We all enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend Oscar. Pura Vida!
