Welcome to Salty Habitz Fishing Charter. Departing from multiple locations in Key Biscayne, Capt. Jimmy's objective besides placing you on the fish is to ensure that you have a great and memorable day on the water.
Your trip takes place on a 23' Hydra Sport bay boat that has all the necessary gadgets, electronics, and fishing equipment to place you on the fish as well as land it. This Hydra Sport is not just a boat, but a spacious 9' beam boat allowing up to 4 people to fish comfortably as well as navigate the waters as shallow as a foot. And if you're in need of a sandbar or a beach rest, then this bay boat is perfect for you. Capt. Jimmy also recommends jumping in the water and seeing what's under, as snorkeling gear can be provided.
You can target different inshore species such as Snook, Tarpon, Seatrout, and depending on the season, Mackerel. When reef fishing, you'll look for various Snapper species and Grouper. You can also explore drift fishing as well as offshore trolling to target some pelagic species.
All fishing tackle, ice and water, as well as a fishing license are included in your trip. Also, if you'd like to make a stop on a reef and check what's under, the captain can bring snorkeling gear. Make sure to bring sunblock, a hat, sunglasses, and a snack. It's also not a bad idea to bring a rain jacket in the summer.

Amazing trip for novice to experienced

This was a trip my partner and I went on while visiting Miami for vacation. I had never fished before while he had. Captain Jimmy taught me the fishing basics/skills and went out of his way to help me catch fish. He helped my partner with more intermediate skills. We the day with snorkeling. Captain Jimmy truly went above and beyond make sure we had a great time. We learned so much! His nephew also assisted on the boat and was just as kind and helpful. Would recommend this trip to all, but especially those in a group or pair with different levels of fishing experience.

The kids' fishing trip with Captain Jimmy was a major highlight of our Miami vacation. Jimmy was a natural with my kids, aged 7 and 12, who had fished only once before. Jimmy was friendly and patient, engaging, and so knowledgeable about the marine life we encountered. He found a calm, quiet spot where my kids caught grunt, triggerfish, and even a hogfish! (He pulled out all of the stops to make sure they caught fish!) I would highly recommend booking with Jimmy. My son is now asking when we can go fishing again!

My son has wanted to catch a shark for years now but we never had luck. Our captain said he’s gonna do everything he can to make sure we get on the sharks, and he kept his promise! We hooked a monster and fought it to the surface. Best trip I’ve had ever! Thanks captain!

Three of us booked a morning fishing trip with Captain Jimmy to celebrate a birthday. It was real fun and Captain Jimmy made sure to bring us to some spots with biting fish. Since we were beginners he showed us how to fish and set up all the bait and tackle. He was very nice and answered all our questions and gave us some background on fishing adventures. We would certainly take a trip with Captain Jimmy again.

My son and I had a great time fishing in Key Biscayne, FL. My son really wanted to catch some barracuda for the first time. He caught his first barracuda on his first cast of the morning! We caught our fair share of barracuda, jack and snapper. We finished the day strong with my son hooking up with a nice blacktip shark. Captain Jimmy knows how/where to find the fish! We will definitely fish with him again next year.
