4 Hour Light Tackle Trip (AM)
This fishing trip was the highlight of our trip. We had planned time in the rainforest, but heavy rains and flash flooding ruined our plans. We booked this last minute because the trip stayed in the lagoons and would be easier for kids to fish. This is the perfect way to expose your young kids to saltwater fishing without worrying about sea sickness or big fish they cannot land. Our guide expertly put us on young tarpon, despite unfavorable tide conditions. We landed several nice juveniles before looking for some bigger fish. The guide knew the area well, was friendly, and was great at explaining the technique to my daughter. I would strongly suggest this trip if you have any children who want to experience saltwater or larger fish for the first time.

4 Hour Light Tackle Trip (AM)
We were in impressed with Captain Javier’s knowledge of fishing (he successfully competes in fishing competitions) and of the area, being a local native resident. His English ability was excellent and easy to communicate with. We asked about fish, birds, trees and culture. He knew the answer to everything we asked while passing the time and He was happy to answer. He has rain jackets if any spot showers arrive (very handy). He was very professional. Great questions to ask if fishing tarpon fish route: What’s the story of the abandoned big boat while leaving the harbor? What is the story of the huge concrete abandoned structure in the distance? Other questions: What is the submerged fly rod catching story? What is the double pole catching story? What is the procedure when he hands you a pole with a fish on. (You will move to Standi on the bow) Other notables He accepts cash and Venmo for payment at the end of the trip. He didn’t mind at all when I used my phone to play some relaxing Jack Johnsons music. Maybe bring a towel and a cushion to sit on. Bring sunscreen and a hat. (Remove hat while cruising fast) No bathroom so use it before you go. Take photos :)

Captain Santiago Javier was fantastic!! The dock was easy to find .. first one on the right when you walk through the main dock entrance!! The captain knew exactly where to find fish and we had a double hitter within 5 minutes!! We lost several but fought them hard before they jumped out of the water and spit the hook 🪝!! When the bite slowed the captain knew exactly where to find them !! You can really tell he loves to fish 🎣 and wants his crew to catch a lot of fish!!! Respectfully, Mark L. From Nashville, Tennessee

6 Hour Light Tackle Trip (AM)
I recently went on a fishing trip with Santiago, targeting Tarpon and Snook, and it was a great day on the water. We started off chasing Tarpon in a spot where they were actively rolling. It didn’t take long before we hooked into one. As the bite slowed down, we moved to different areas of the back water and if the bite wasn’t on Santiago wasn’t afraid to pick up a move to stay productive. After the Tarpon action, we moved to an area holding gigantic snook. Santiago knew exactly where to find them around mangroves and structure. The Snook weren’t as aggressive as the Tarpon, but they still hit hard and provided some good fights. After landing huge snook the action shifted again back to tarpon and we rounded out the day with several more great fish. Santiago kept the day laid-back but productive. He knows the waters well. I would highly recommend booking his trip if you’re headed to Puerto Rico.

Captain Santiago Javier Aldrey is very knowledgeable. He put me in a great position to catch tarpon. I hooked up a few times and the fish either jumped and spit the hook or it ran and broke off on a pylon. Santiago did not get angry with me. He then put me on a nice 45lbs tarpon. That was the bigger of the tarpon I bought in. It was a great day of fishing! Thank you Captain Santiago!
