I grew up in Eugene, OR where my love for fly fishing and exploring rivers began as a child along the banks of the McKenzie and Willamette Rivers.
My admiration for the outdoors and passion for leading trips as a guide has strengthened with time, taking me throughout the Pacific Northwest as a sea kayaking instructor in the San Juan Islands, to Utah as a Professional Ski Patroller, and internationally as an ‘Overseas Educator’ in Latin America. I am excited to share my in-depth knowledge of local home waters and enthusiasm for fly fishing and being on the river while catering to your specific goals.
As a Swift Water Rescue certified guide, in addition to a Wilderness First Responder, I ensure high-quality, professional, and safe riverside experiences.
Every trip is made in order to cater to my guests’ specific desires and goals. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion while helping people catch fish. Simply put, I love my job.
Homewaters: Upper McKenzie River
The upper McKenzie River is renowned for crystal clear water, beautiful scenery and incredible trout fly fishing, making it one of Oregon’s true gems. This section of river has an abundant population of both hatchery and wild trout. Trout range 10-18 inches with larger 20’’ native red sides possible.
The upper McKenzie provides a diversity of unique and dynamic water. Throughout our day we will experience large pools, swift rapids, and glassy tail-outs. Every stretch requires certain methods and techniques adapted to the conditions. From dry fly to nymphing we will target these beautiful fish based on preferred method and likelihood of success.
My raft is setup to conveniently allow 2 people to fish simultaneously. The frame provides protection while fishing to help ensure safety in addition to comfortable, swiveling chairs.
