Expect to use techniques like light tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, and spinning, based on the species you’re targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 4 to 6-hour trips, where you’ll be fishing for the likes of Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Flounder, and Black Drum, depending on the specific season and the day’s weather.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 21’ Nauticstar boat that can safely take up to 4 anglers. This boat features an ice box and a wireless trolling motor.
All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip. All that’s up to you is to use it as best you can. As for fishing licenses, everything will be taken care of by the captain so you don’t have to worry about it.
You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.

Best Trip Ever
6 Hour Trip – Inshore/Nearshore on November 2, 2024
Took my 10yo son and uncle out with Capt Artie and had a great day. Caught a ton of bull reds, along with trout and black drum. Probably landed ~30 fish (11 of which were bull reds). It was a very busy day. Capt Artie had great spots for us to fish and had a wide range of baits to change to as we targeted different fish at different points. He did a great job of keeping the trip enjoyable. Even when we had some of the larger fish wrap around all of our lines (twice), he was good about getting us back in the water quickly. I would definitely recommend going out with him on your next trip. My uncle, who has been out on these trips for over 40 years, commented on the ride back that this was the best fishing trip he’s ever been on.

Great and economical for a short trip!
3 hour trip on June 26, 2024
My father (74), my son (12), and I booked a 3.5 hour charter with Capt. Artie. He worked hard to put us on fish, and did his level best to keep us in the action as much as possible. We caught a lot of small fish (croakers, pinfish, and even a puffer), and a couple keepers. One keeper black drum, and one redfish that was just barely large enough. Capt. Artie was great, coaching my son on casting, hook setting, and all the basics! We had a great time, and would highly recommend him. Next time, I think we’d go for the longer time block, and a little later in the year, when the reds are running more! Thanks for a great time, Capt.!

Me, my fiancé, my little brother (15) and his friend (15) booked a first time trip. And did it exceed our expectations. We had an awesome trip! He worked hard to get us to catch a lot of fish. We caught two small black drum and one red drum which was a keeper and a huge trout! We caught A LOT of croakers and pin fish. He helped us bait our hooks and helped the boys learn to cast. Overall we had a great time and will definitely do this again with hound dog charters. Thank you Captain!

We took a 6 hour fishing trip we had both experienced and a first time fisher with us. Artie immediately put us on a spot where we caught fish. He has such a great attitude along with his knowledge of the water and what is biting. By the end of our trip he had helped the one with us that had never fished before where she was fishing on her own and catching. We will most definitely be taking another trip with Captain Artie!!!
