Captain Matt was awesome! I took my three kids and my dad on the kids fishing trip, and we had a great time. Matt was incredibly patient with the kids and did an excellent job teaching them how to fish. He made sure everyone was involved and having fun throughout the trip. You can tell he genuinely enjoys working with kids and helping them learn. I highly recommend Captain Matt to any family looking for a fun fishing experience. We’ll definitely be booking with him again next year! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another awesome excursion with Capt Matt. He is a great guide who takes the time to explain the subtleties of fishing and the how and why you need to know before you can successfully catch fish. He also keeps your expectations reasonable since the fish don’t always cooperate. The best part is his willingness to try different spots during your charter to give you the best chance to catch fish. He clearly loves what he does and you benefit from that commitment. Would book him every time I want to go out on a charter inshore.

Capt. Matt knows how to put kids on fish and keep them coming into the boat. Total we caught close to 50 fish on a two hour trip!!! if you got little ones the 2 hr kids trip is perfect.

Capt. Matt was awesome! Within 10mins Capt. Matt put us on fish, Wife’s 2nd cast caught 30.75” Red. Even though bite was a little slow due to excessive heat, Capt. Matt kept us on fish. Flounder, Reds, and Black drum. Capt. Matt was very patient, honest, and coached us through our journey! Memories forever! Thanks Capt. Matt!!

Cpt Matt was an incredible host, guide and teacher. We caught 3 big BIG fish. He taught us about the local fish, fisherman and local fishing lore. He enthusiastically answered all our questions and shared stories. We had an amazing time. We Will Go Again with Cpt Matt!! Thank you !!!!!

Captain Matt is awesome! We had a four hour trip and they had a blast. Captain Matt was helpful and got them on some fish and did a great job cleaning their catches. He was very knowledgeable about the waters and where to find fish. We definitely will book with him on our next trip.

Fishing with Capt Matt was great. His knowledge of salt water fish helped this inland angler learn the ropes quickly and made it a safe experience. He showed me some techniques on how to improve my odds of landing them. I highly recommend him for any experience level and especially families.

Our group was 3 adults and 3 kids (ages 11, 8, and 3) for a 4 hour trip. Everyone caught multiple fish. The 8 year old got the catch of the day - a 31.75” Red Drum! I would definitely recommend Behind the Island charters with Captain Matt! He was patient and very informative!

We gad a great trip with Capt Matt and caught some of the many species the river has to offer. We caught a black drum,a bunch of croakers,a flounder,and a beautiful redfish. Capt Matt knows his way around the river and where to fish.

Captain Matt was waiting at the dock for us, explained the safety features of the boat, educated us about the local fish and waterways and told us where to cast for the best chance at catching a fish. Wonderful charter and plan to book with him again.
