Fishhound Expeditions LLC provides boats for its guests and offers trips for up to 30 guests. The boats you and your group will fish from are 14' commercial boats equipped with GPS electronics used for efficient and safe navigation.
The crew fishes multiple rivers throughout Alaska as well as backcountry waters. You will have a fun and enjoyable guided fly fishing trip, no matter your experience and age. The lovely species you and the crew can go after include Arctic Char, Greyling, Dolly, Varden, Salmon, as well as Rainbow Trout. You are permitted to keep some of the species you catch, while other will have to be released. Feel free to bring your kids, the crew has experience in guiding children as young as 5.
Your guide will provide you with all the fly fishing equipment, flies, waders, and boots. You are also provided with water, soda, and beer. Lunch is available on full day trips. Before you come on board, make sure you have your fishing licenses and some food.

Dan was an excellent instructor—patient, knowledgeable, and great at teaching beginners. The fish weren’t biting much that day, but everyone still managed to catch one, which made the experience even more rewarding. The wildlife was just as memorable. We saw a mother moose with two calves, a porcupine, a mother duck with five ducklings, and two bald eagles. The reindeer sausage for lunch was a pleasant surprise and absolutely delicious. His kindness and commitment to providing a great experience did not go unnoticed. We had a few good catches and also caught a nice sized leapard rainbow trout with our guide sully! This was our first time trying fly fishing and he gave us some good pointers and direction. The scenery was amazing as well!

Booked a half day wade trip in early/mid May. I knew it was a bit early and didnt end up catching any fish. Didn’t matter. Ryan, my guide, was great and gave me a few casting tips I can take back with me. He knew what he was doing but the water was just a bit too cold. Would book again!

All was good. Equipment, guide, beautiful river, but catching was slow. Can’t blame anyone except Mother Nature. Chris was superb at handling the raft and very attentive to our needs.

At 30, the captain fulfilled his dream to guide in Alaska. After guiding for other companies and seeing how things could be improved and my wife's encouragement, Captain Adam started his own outfit. It started with him and a boat and has now grown to 10 guides and 4 different locations across Alaska.
