Fishhound Expeditions LLC is a guide-owned and operated outfitter business located in Willow, Alaska. Captain Adam Cuthriell and his crew call Alaska home year-round and they fish constantly! This ensures their guests will have the best experience possible. Pick a day that suits you and join this friendly and experienced crew for a memorable day on the water.
Fishhound Expeditions LLC provides boats for its guests and offers trips for up to 30 guests. The boats you and your group will fish from are 14’ commercial boats equipped with GPS electronics used for efficient and safe navigation.
The crew fishes multiple rivers throughout Alaska as well as backcountry waters. You will have a fun and enjoyable guided fly fishing trip, no matter your experience and age. The lovely species you and the crew can go after include Arctic Char, Greyling, Dolly, Varden, Salmon, as well as Rainbow Trout. You are permitted to keep some of the species you catch, while other will have to be released. Feel free to bring your kids, the crew has experience in guiding children as young as 5.
Your guide will provide you with all the fly fishing equipment, flies, waders, and boots. You are also provided with water, soda, and beer. Lunch is available on full day trips. Before you come on board, make sure you have your fishing licenses and some food.

Wonderful Fishing Experience!
Full Day Trip – Float on July 6, 2025 • 1 adult
I had a great all- day trip on the Little Willow fishing for "Leopard" rainbow trout. I'm a beginner at fly fishing but my guide, Carson, made it easy for me by constantly positioning the raft for easy casts to good spots. We tried several different presentations to see what worked best: dry flies, nymphs with a float, streamers, and streamers with a float. I caught several trout and I hooked but lost several others, including a grayling. Those Leopard rainbows are crazy wild fish - not easy to land! On top of the great fishing, I was treated to caribou sausages for a hot shore lunch! Carson seemed willing to spend as much time on the water as I wanted, so I had a good long, relaxed day of great fishing!

Waiting Willow Creek with Dan

I’m a novice fly angler who sought an accessible Alaska fishing experience. The day in late June was cool and the sky was overcast with clouds. I was apprehensive about and unsure that I’d made a good decision. Dan showed up at the appointed time and place and was encouraging and upbeat from the start. He demonstrated respect for his craft, the environment the fish and me with professionalism and unusual warmth. He taught and guided with kindness that free from condescension and a know it all demeanor. I learned to fish successfully in spots that, until today, I would have passed by without a second look.
Dan managed our outing with skill and understanding. He challenged me to try new techniques and to see the habitat through new eyes.
If you’re an older person, like me, and new to the sport of fly flying, you could hardly do better than to spend four hours on Willow Creek with Dan.

My fiance and I spent the day with Tyler doing some fishing. We had great luck! Caught some large Greyling as well! The lunch was well prepared and weather was perfect. Tyler was a great teacher and guide. A very visual learner helped me get the moves down right. We had such a great time and would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to do some wading fly fishing in AK.

If you enjoy the sport of fishing you will enjoy this outing. Dan is an experienced and personable guide who made our experience quite fun even though we didn't catch a lot of fish. It was my first time on a fly rod and Dan is a great teacher. He cooked up a yummy warm lunch for us and we entertained one another with our personal stories. Unless the salmon are running, this will be catch and release. So, if you're out to harvest fish, you may want to look elsewhere.
