Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Flounder, and who knows what else! You can expect to do some popping, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Children are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Kids must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
You'll find yourself aboard a 25.5ft Center console that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water, plus a multimedia system to play your favorite tunes! Capt. Alexander will provide rods and reels for you. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks and water are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Had a great time fishing with Zander
My 3 nephews and I booked an am trip with Captain Alex. He was super informative and helped my nephews perfect their skills. While the morning started off slow, Captain Alex worked hard constantly searching to put us on the fish. As the day progressed we started catching more and more. Towards the end he spotted schools of Reds and we all were catching good sized ones. On top of the reds, we caught some trout and drum. Amazing experience and will hopefully be lucky enough to book him on our next trip to Port A.

Afternoon Happy Hour
Happy hour fishing trip left us more than happy!!
Alex was great to fish with; he was knowledgeable about where and how to fish. He had us casting like pros by the end of the trip. He was quick with new bait and a line repair when needed. We caught 9 keeper reds and we threw back just as many that were just under the required size. We got back to dock late and Alex cleaned our catch and gave us helpful suggestions on how to cook and prep the fillets. If we get the opportunity again we would book with Alex without hesitation. We had a great time!

Fished with Alex yesterday and had an incredible trip. We limited out on trout early and released several more before switching things up to target reds—ended up boating a beautiful oversized redfish to top it off. The day started with a heads-up text from Alex about an incoming storm, but instead of canceling, he waited it out for over four hours to make sure we still got on the water. It paid off big time. The boat was clean, well-stocked, had plenty of shade, and Alex was on point the entire time—bait ready, rods set, always one step ahead. If you’re considering a trip, don’t hesitate. Excellent day on the water with Zander!
My son, brother, and I had the pleasure of spending the day with Alexander (Zander) on his rig Sat, Apr 19, 2025. Everything at meet-up was on time and we'll planned. The only hiccup was a lack of live shrimp because recent high winds in the area for the past couple days. That did not detract from from the fishing trip at all. Zander had back up and we caught fish...big fish. Black drum were plentiful and despite being picky biters, we managed some keeper Speckled Trout as well. Zander was well informed on fish location, was a big help with everything on board, and a great conversationalist. I highly recommend anyone to Charter through Zander on the Bay. We will definately use this man's business again. Thanks for a great day, Zander!

Afternoon Jiffy
First time fishers, had a fantastic time!
My daughter (8) and I came down to Corpus Christi to visit and vacation. We’ve fished lakeside at home before but nothing like saltwater fishing in a boat… we had a blast! Captain Alex was wonderful and so patient with my daughter and her many questions. We caught our max and had a great time doing it!
