Captain Rick couldn’t have been a better guide for us today in Islemorada. He’s lived here for years and is extremely knowledgeable of where, when and what to fish in the area. We had a great time and will call him again next time we’re here. Also, a really good guy.

Rick started as a mate in Marlin tourneys in 1978, before his 16th birthday, and grew up fishing the flats and offshore waters of Key Biscayne and Miami. He finally landed in Islamorada in 1995 after charter fishing Costa Rica (as featured in Salt Water Sportsman, March 1991), St. Thomas, Mexico, Bahamas, and South Florida. Rick found the truth in Islamorada's reputation as 'The Sport Fishing Capital of the World.' Many IGFA world records have been caught here. There is an incredible variety of fish and fishing: Tarpon, offshore, wrecks, reef, flats, and Everglades!
