Dorothy Fishing Charters
Dorothy Fishing Charters is one of the most well-established fishing charters in Aruba. Captains Roberto and his crew have many years of experience - they have been fishing together for years and love fishing and meeting new fishing buddies. Their many returning customers recommend their services as even on the worst catching days, Roberto and his colleagues will put their all into making sure everyone on board is having a great time on the water.
'Dorothy' is a well-equipped BHM Downeast style boat that was restored fully in 2010. At 32 ft, she has plenty of space on board for up to six people to join in the action, and her comfortable interior and flybridge give extra space for relaxing. The boat features a range of amenities that make sport fishing in Aruba even more fun and productive, including three fighting chairs (two sailfish chairs and one marlin chair), outriggers, downriggers, and tuna tubes. Inside, you will find a toilet with a shower, as well as a kitchen with a refrigerator and a bedroom.
The crew specializes in offshore fishing, providing both trolling and bottom fishing adventures depending on their customers' wishes. They will supply you with both light and heavy tackle, and will generally target fish such as White and Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Amberjack, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, Snappers, and Groupers. With the captains also being passionate cooks, they will share the catch with you, clean it, and give you some tips for making the most out of your freshly caught bounty.
Don't worry about taking your fishing gear to Aruba with you - all the fishing equipment you will need is included in the price. The crew will even provide sodas on all trips, as well as sandwiches on six hour trips and lunch on full day excursions.

If you're thinking of booking with the Dorothy do it. My son and I finally broke our deep sea curse and it's all thanks to the crew on the Dorothy. I now see what all the other charters I have been on were doing wrong. The crew of the Dorothy worked hard for our best chance of success; constantly changing and keeping the baits fresh and running lines at different depths. The crew thought the waters would be rough while we were out but for a couple land locked Canadians we did not find it bad at all. It was a full moon the night before so the first mate thought it could be a slow bite as the fish would have been feeding all night. We still managed to catch tuna, barracuda and rainbow runner. We had a few other bites and one on that got away as well. We were hoping for a wahoo but that did not happen this time. At the end of the day Roberto arranged to have our fish taken to the Driftwood restaurant where the chef cooked it all up for us in three different styles depending on the species. What an incredible meal it was. They cook the fish and provide sides including rice, potatoes, fries, fried plantain, veggies, some kind of corn bread and garlic toast. All that for only $17 per person! What a memorable day for us. Looking back our only regret was not booking the full day for more time on the water. We did the 6 hour day and wish now we would have done the 8 hour trip. The extra $ would have been worth it we think. If we ever come back to Aruba booking an another day with Roberto and his crew would be a must.

Hi, thank you so much for fishing with us and enjoying your day out. Dinner looks great. Rudolf, Luis, Gerry and Roberto.

i think i found my favorite boat and crew. ive sailed on many in aruba but havent seen a happier hard working crew and captain. they were always changing things up trying new things and man o man did we land on the wahoo,barracuda,1 blackfin tuna. ill tell you what i like most and why you should choose Dorothy. they have a downrigger no handline which is awesome, they work all levels of the water column which is super important. and they pull out all the tricks, another fun thing is captain is inside joining in on conversation and laughing right along and the fishfinder screen is right there to see and the fish alarm keeps you on your toes. we had so much fun im going back out on an afternoon trip tomorrow. we lost a few wahoo to sharks or we would have had more nothing like fighting a fish getting it to boat and have a huge shark chomp the thing in 2 heck one fish was just the head. and yes i would have had a great day if things were slow its just the vibe i got from.capt and crew.

Hi, thank you so much for enjoying your day out on the water on the DOROTHY. Thank you for the review. Rudolf, Richard, Gerry and Roberto.
Booked this fishing with Dorothy Charters and had the best time ever! Roberto Tromp met with us first thing and introduced us to the crew. The crew consisted of Ronaldo and Jerry. They both did everything in their power to make sure that we had a wonderful time and got on some fish. We did the 8 hour trip which is what is recommended. After catching quite a few nice fish Roberto Tromp recommended that he would transport our catch to the Driftwood restaurant and they fixed all three types of fish four different ways for a very reasonable price. I have done charters before in Aruba but Dorothy Charters was the best so far and it is highly recommended if you want a crew that will give it their all to get you on some fish!

Hi, thank you so much for enjoying your day out on the water. Rudolf, Gerry and Roberto.
"Booking with Dorothy Fishing Charters was easily one of the best decisions we made for our Aruba trip. From the moment we arrived at the Renaissance Marina, the crew made us feel welcome and ready for adventure. Captain Roberto and his First Mate Jerry were professional, friendly, and worked incredibly hard to get us on the fish. The boat (the Dorothy) is a classic 37ft Bertram—she's an older vessel but very solid and well-maintained, which is exactly what you want in the deep waters off Aruba. We ended up catching 2 Bonito! The crew handled everything smoothly, from baiting hooks to helping us reel them in. A huge bonus was the 'Hook and Cook' option—Captain Roberto and Jerry fillet our fish...Eating fresh fish we caught ourselves was the perfect end to the day. Highly recommend this charter if you want a genuine, fun, and successful fishing trip in Aruba!"

Hi, thank you much. The boat is a BHM built in Boston. Roberto and Gerry.
We had a great time, the crew, Luis and Danny made it fun & relaxed. While we didn't catch as much as we hoped, do you ever.....🤣 we did get some Mahi, Bonito and Barracuda. Guys were great on the boat throughout, Danny fileted up some of the catch when we got back to the dock and Luis walked us over to a spot, talked with the staff where we enjoyed a nice lunch with our fresh catch. We will definitely be booking them again when back in Aruba, likely take more than one trip out next time.....love it out there on the water and they exceeded expectations for a crew!! Thank you Roberto, El Jefe, for the great communication and to the guys on the boat!! Already miss Aruba, see you when we return!! Rick and Tara

Hi, thank you so much for fishing with us and enjoying your trip and fish. See you next time. Luis, Gerry and Roberto.
I just have always loved fishing, ever since childhood. I have fished in a lot of countries with many techniques. I started off the sea shore but eventually moved on to getting my own boat, and now I enjoy running charters and sharing my passion with my guest. You will find me or Captain Rudy at the helm of your charter with Dorothy Fishing Charters.
