Excited to go fishing in La Paz? La French is here to make it happen! Having logged many hours on these tides, your Captain is prepared to put you on fish.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Cubera Snapper, Yellowtail Amberjack, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, White Marlin, Blue Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Sierra Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Sailfish, and anything else that bites. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.
La French welcomes kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 24’ Panga with room for 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don’t forget to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.
