Running Sportfishing trips out of Christiansted, Down South Charters invites you to check out the local fishery in style.
Capt. Randy will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing and adventure. Whether it is trolling, live bait fishing, fly fishing, light tackle, or spearfishing, the crew will do everything they can to put you on the action. Down South offers 4,6, and 8 hour trips where the target species include King Mackerel, Wahoo, Dolphin, Tuna, Barracuda, and Marlin depending on the season and conditions for the day.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 36' Yellowfin center console that can safely take up to 6 anglers. This boat features an ice box. With triple Mercury 300s they can cover ground and get you to the right spots quickly. The yellowfin is in a league of its own and you will be thankful for the stable and smooth ride this boat offers.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. No need to worry about fishing licenses, as they will be provided and handled by the charter. You're welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.
Capt. Randy runs trips together with his first mate (when available), who's there to help you with whatever you may need. Tips are always appreciated for a job well done. 15 - 25% of your charter rate is the industry standard.
The price of your trip also includes bottled waters, coolers, and ice, but you're welcome to bring your own drinks as well as snacks or a lunch. Please let the captain know if you have any questions or special requests.

we were in town celebrating my dads 86th birthday. he loves to fish. he had a great time and not only did we catch 2 Mahi but also had an orca swim right by us. our captain was very experienced, organized, fun and communicated great before the trip too. Highly recommend.

Since I could walk, I have lived fishing! Constantly absorbing information and tossing a line in at every opportunity. I began as a kid in TN fishing lakes, creeks, rivers, and cow ponds. Although, for living in a landlocked state, I could not shake this fascination for everything ocean related. I attended college and gained two bachelor's degrees (wildlife fisheries science and biology with a concentration in marine science). After college, I moved with my best friend and fishing partner to South Florida where my offshore career sprouted. Beginning on the drift boat as a mate for Fishing Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL, I quickly moved on to the sport-fish boats to learn the various tactics of South Florida fishing. With the Gulf Stream so close, you can't ask for a better place to learn the art of sport-fishing. Kite fishing for Sails, live bait trolling for monster Kings and Wahoo, dropping on wrecks for huge Grouper and Reef Donkeys, deep dropping for Tiles and Snapper, and Swordfishing to name a few. It's truly a fisherman's dream. After around 3.5 years I had an opportunity to move down to St. Croix, USVI and I jumped at it. The Virgin Islands are a unique place, and I'm all for it. Going on 6 years, I have no plans to leave. After fishing for several different outfits, it was time to begin my own operation. Down South Charters was born in June of 2022. My goal is always to put clients on the fish of a lifetime, but I am equally as passionate about sharing what knowledge I can and encouraging everyone to become a better steward for our planet. You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

Transfer to/from departure site may be available and included in price depending on your location and distance from the dock.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
