If you're ready to start fishing in Buxton, we've got you covered with Offpoint Sportsfishing. Your guide for the day is Captain James, which allows you to benefit from years of professional experience.
There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but some species you can catch around here include Redfish, Bluefish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Sheepshead. On these trips, you can expect to jig using light tackle. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
Your boat for the day will be a 21' Carolina Skiff that can fit up to 4 guests. Feel free to take home some of the fish you catch, assuming they're legal to keep. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home and throw it right into the pan. How's that for fresh seafood?
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Offpoint Sportsfishing is a child-friendly charter service, so get 'em offline and onto the water! You'll want to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, light snacks, and drinks.
Now and then, the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen with Offpoint Sportsfishing!

Prior to the start of the trip, Capt. Jim was in constant communication with us about the meeting point and what we would be going after and gave us crystals clear directions to his dock. Once we were on the boat, we immediately set out on our day. Capt. Jim was extremely knowledgeable about the portion of the sound we’d be fishing on and was very easy to talk to. We got hit with a little rain during the day, but Capt. maneuvered around it as best he could. Once we got to the first point, my boy landed a beautiful speckled trout and we continued to pull in fish the rest of the trip. The four hour trip went extremely fast, but it was well worth it. My boys and I had a great time today! Thanks Captain Jim and we’ll see you next year!
I enjoyed seeing one of my sons catching his first fish in the sound. I also enjoyed the peacefulness of just being on the water. Capt Jimmy was a exceptional captain helping us navigate the sound and helping my sons with new techniques on how to fish with lures instead of bait. I would definitely book again . Next time I would book morning trip.

This was a great experience, with a great Captain. The wins were rough, but the Captain still put us on some fish and the overall day was fun.
