Traverse City has a fish with your name on it, so let Fins, Furs & Feathers help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Rj can tell you all about them.
Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Brook Trout, Largemouth Bass, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, and more can be found in these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. Steelhead fishing runs from October to the end of April. You will have Trout, Smallmouth Bass, and Pike fishing from May to August and King Salmon from late August till the mid-first week of October.
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Rj also offers fly fishing.
Any fish within the legal limit are yours to take home. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home to eat. Now that’s dinner!
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You’ll be casting lines from an 18’ Rivermaster jet boat with room for 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures and live bait.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s always wise to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask.
Now’s the time to experience fishing in Traverse City for yourself, with Fins, Furs & Feathers, so book a trip and have fun!
