Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Amberjack, Bonito, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, African Pompano Jack, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish, and whatever else takes the bait. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
You're welcome to bring home any fish you catch, assuming they're legal to keep. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home and throw it right into the pan. Enjoy it later that day or pack it away for months down the line.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available; otherwise, you should bring your own. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Capt. Will welcomes you aboard a 28' Contender center console with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials that no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask.

They put us on fish first thing in the morning, and continuously taught everyone how to use the bait and tackle. They’ve got a plethora of equipment and rotated it throughout the day, as well as moved us around the ocean to find more fish. We ended with 18 fish we could take, but probably caught over 30 fish. Thanks Will and Drew, we will definitely be back and will strongly recommend you!

My daughter didn't fish, she's going through medical issues, but that didn't stop them from interacting with her and also myself. I'm 75 and just wanted to get out again. We caught 8 Mahi Mahi, 2 Tuna, and a Triggerfish all nice size, and released Barracuda and other Fish. It was a little rough going out but nothing we couldn't handle. If your looking for a day out in the ocean, you couldn't find a better boat then Captain Will and Jay............Tight Lines, Doug and Hayley!!!!

Also when we weren’t getting very many bite trolling they quickly decided to change our fishing strategy to bottom/wreck fishing where we all got to reel in some battlers. Great day. If you like an honest company this one is it! We did the 10 hour trip and got the full 10 hours. Caught some amazing fish, including sharks towards the end. Extremely experienced crew. We will definitely be using him again when we come back to NC.

The first initial date we chose had to get pushed due to weather issues. ALL 3 captains communicated together and we scheduled for another day (Flawless). With such a large party it can be hard to schedule but captain Will and the others made it painless. We had an awesome day out on the water. Captain Will had us set up in no time and when the fish stopped biting top water we switched to bottom fishing, which was awesome. We caught several fish that day including Grouper, Mahi-mahi, False albacore, Trigger and some snapper just to name a few. This was a company outing and we will definitely be booking with Dead Tide again next year. Awesome experience!!! Thank you again for such a great day.

4 Hour Trip on June 27, 2023 • 3 adultsWith the weather being so bad, he had to make other plans in order to try to catch some fish. He then caught our bait, which was amazing to watch because everyone was out of bait that day. He took us all around cape fear river with many lost fish on the line, we did manage to keep a nice two or three pound, sheeps head to take home. Captain Jeff was professional and the perfect guide for our fishing trip. He did the best possible strategies to make our trip as awesome as it could be for the situation. My kids had a blast just being on his vessel and highly recommend him for your fishing experiences. We will definitely use him again as he stepped up when our original captain had to cancel to keep us happy, which he did. Thanks Jeff from The Perry's

We caught lots of Spanish mackerel and several king fish!! Following our trip, he filleted the fish and we grilled it for dinner that night. We had a great trip, couldn’t ask for a better guide, knowledgeable were to catch the fish and we did! Very knowledgeable of the area and what is going on, very safely oriented but still having a great time. Will recommend him to all my friends and will hopefully book a second trip later this summer. A great great guid for the novice, family with kids, or the guys/gals that think they have it figured out. Good equipment on the boat as well, can’t wait too book again

Captain Will was SO great! VERY patient with our boys (9&13) we had a blast catching spanish mackerels and Atlantic Bonito—extremely knowledgeable, knows what he is doing for sure!
