On these trips, it's common to jig using light tackle.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Your boat for the day is a 25' Bay boat with space for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
You can't go wrong when you bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation.

Nick got me and my 7 year old son on fish quick and we had a 2 person limit of trout in an hour. I have had some guides who pull up and head in, but Nick switched target species and kept fishing. The fishing was a little slow but that’s fishing and Capt. did all he could do and it paid off we caught fish -trout, couple of reds and a flounder so was a good day. For inshore you’ll be glad you booked this one.

Good day on the River
Focused Tide Window on October 10, 2025 • 2 adultsWe booked an AM charter with Captain Nick. My 6 year old son was with us and it was windy in Mobile Bay. Captain Nick recomended trout and red fish in the rivers. After a short ride, Captain Nick had us on trout and we were catching fish by the third cast. Captain Nick was patient and helpful good with kids and beginners.

Focused Tide Window on July 1, 2024 • 2 adults • 1 childThe fishing was awesome, it was me and my 10yr girl let the Nick know I was wanting to focus on her catching fish. Once we got to are spot he baited her line with crock and she got so many at one point she had to take a break and rest her arms. The spickled trout we got were between 17&22 inches. With a 5to6 lbs red hooked 2 sharks but the broke the line.All together we got between 45&50 fish. Definitely will go back next time we’re here.

In no time the drag was screaming. Caught a few catfish as well and hooked into a large sting ray, man they can fight. Great guy and knows the area.

Great with talking/entertaining questions as well. Did a great job of keeping us on a variety of fish. If a spot died down he always had another in mind next. He also helped one of our passengers with her casts since she was having trouble early on. He didn’t complain once. Which is a 10/10 in my book.

My 11 year old got the catch of his life with a jack crevalle that fought hard. Nico did a heck of job navigating the boat to assist with the fighting fish! We caught multiple species in our 4 hour trip and would definitely recommend and hope to be back in the fall!

Had a beautiful morning fishing near Dauphin Island with my 9 year old son. We were put on speckled trout immediately and the bite was hot and heavy. We both had a lot of fun and were able to bring home plenty of fish for a large gathering. Would highly recommend!

Our tour guide Nick was super helpful. We caught Spanish mackerel, flounder, and we hit the limit on trout. We definitely plan on booking again next summer.
We caught our speckle trout limits (3) in an hour and fifteen minutes on artificial baits. (2-3 lbs fish). Captain Nick had us on them quick.

My father started guiding inshore trips in the early 80s on Calcasieu Lake in Southwest Louisiana. In 1984, my parents started Big Lake Guide Service on Calcasieu Lake. I came along in 1987 and it seems like I've been in a boat ever since. As a child my parents employed up to 12 captains. As scary as it sounds, you could say I was raised by fishing guides, literally and figuratively. They were all like my older brothers. My parents somehow cultivated an environment of competition and respect on their dock. Competition amongst each other and respect for the customer, themselves, and the fish. They all strove to be the best on the dock every morning. The best fisherman, the best with customers, and the best conservationist. These lessons have stuck with me and I'll carry them until I'm long gone.
