Scout Lake Adventures
There's a fish with your name on it in Kenai and Scout Lake Adventures will help you catch it! Captain Robert will be your guide, giving you access to years of angling experience.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Sockeye Salmon, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Pink Salmon, Arctic Char, Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Dolly Varden, Grayling, and anything else that bites.
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, drifting, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Robert also offers fly fishing.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Capt. Robert runs a 21' Willie Boats aluminum fishing vessel that holds up to 8 passengers. It has outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can't go wrong when you bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Scout lake adventures will make it easy for you to go fishing in Kenai. So, how about booking that trip? MONDAYS-Only lake fishing

We had an awesome two days with Robert at Scout Lake Adventures! I brought four boys along, and Robert made the experience a blast for all of us. We caught some great silvers, but honestly, the fishing was only part of what made the trip so memorable. Robert’s knowledge, skills, and ability to put us on fish were impressive, and he was genuinely great company the entire time. He was patient with the boys, knew exactly what he was doing, and made both days fun and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a great Alaska fishing experience, I highly recommend Scout Lake Adventures and Robert. We’ll definitely be back!
Great experience and would recommend whether you are new or not. Only thing I think the captain could do better would be ask if you are new, and give some breakdown (teach) of how fishing goes. Since some fishing-terminologies are new, it can be hard to understand. Saw some wild animals while fishing, caught salmons that are in season. It took a while for Silver Salmon, but captain stayed with us a bit longer to help catch more.
Highy reccomend booking with Robert! He was a great host and an even geater captain. We had a mix of beginners and advanced fishers and we had a great time. We were able to catch a decent amount of fish given the captain has 25 years of experience and great stories to share. Don't bring any bananas on the boat and you'll be just fine.
If this is your first time fishing in Alaska Bob is the Captain for you. If you are a seasoned fisherman or woman again, Bob is the Captain for you. Rain or shine you will catch a fish. If you do not catch a fish within your time frame he will stay later on the water with you at no charge so you experience what its like to catch a Salmon. He takes great pride in watching people enjoy doing what he loves the most. What you see is what you get and that is a genuine human being that we need more of in this world. If you require more attention than others he will help you and make sure your needs are met. A caring soul who has the best campfire stories you will ever hear. I fished with him two days in a row. He went above the clouds and beyond any River in Alaska to make sure not only that I realed in a big salmon , but made sure i had everything I needed. Also, it started raining and he gave me the gear I needed. I took home Salmon, a bigger smile than i came with, and lots of great memories in the great outdoors. Give Scout Lake Bob a call. I have already booked for next year. Thanks again BOB for everything you do! Tammy Holman

thanks for the kind review. No better way to end my season with meeting a nice person like yourself. being married to a nurse for so many years I know your job description sometimes takes more from you then it gives us back. Glad to have given you some time in Alaska to unwind. Looking forward to next year showing you what August is all about when it comes to catching fish on the Kenai River. Be safe tell your next adventure Scout Lake Adventures.
What an amazing day we had with Bob and his deck hand Corburn. Not only was Bob a good guide but good fun to be with, told lots of funny stories. Caught some beautiful sockeye salmon and learnt a lot about fishing the Kenai river and the local wildlife. Bob is also a very patient teacher, which is exactly what you need on a six hour trip. Would highly recommend these guys and would do it all again. Thanks guys!
I was a contractor for years and always loved fishing. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and always had a calling for fishing. Moved to Alaska in 2001 and started fishing on the Kenai River. Started guiding 2003 full time.
