Come spend the day with Penn Coastal Fishing Guide Services and see what's biting in Port Aransas! With Captain Jodie Penn at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands. Captain Jodie has been fishing these waters almost daily since 2015.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Redfish, Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, and anything else that bites. The captain typically uses bait and/or lures depending on the species and conditions.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Adult life jackets will be provided. Also, remember to bring snacks and drinks as the charter has a 75-quart cooler for customer use.
You'll be casting lines from a 23' Majek M2 Illusion with a capacity for 5 passengers. It has a shade top, live well, bait well, trolling motor, and 2 Raptor power anchors. Captain offers half-day and full-day trips that include rods, reels, and tackle along with lures and live bait.
You will need to have a TPWD saltwater-approved fishing license before the trip. A fishing license can be purchased online or you can ask the captain where to purchase one in person. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can keep any legal fish that you catch, or you may choose to catch and release. Ask the captain about fish cleaning services. Don't leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but please try to avoid glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Penn Coastal Fishing Guide Services!

We had a fantastic trip with our guide. He was great with my 8-year-old daughter and made sure she was involved and having fun the entire time. He put us on fish quickly and kept us on them, which made the experience even better. He was easy to talk to, ran a very clean boat, and all the equipment was in great shape. We felt safe and well taken care of the whole time. He also handled everything for us, including getting the fish cleaned at the end of the trip, which made the whole day effortless on our end. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a professional, relaxed, and family-friendly guide

Thank you so much Benjamin! It was a great trip, yalled killed it out there on the drum! I ready to get back out there with yall!

Booked a trip with Captain Jodie while visiting Port A. The weather did not cooperate but Captain Jodie immediately put us on fish and we ended the day with a great catch of reds and black drum. Jodie’s main concern was that we had a great time. He was also gracious enough to willingly share his knowledge of the area and give us fishing tips for future trips. Will definitely book again next time I’m in the area.

Captin Jodie was great! We had a group of 5 and all caught fish. He put us on speckled trout 1st. He gave great instructions and was very friendly and helpful. We caught 11 speckled trout. When the trout stopped hitting, he took us to catch redfish. We got two nice sized red fish before heading back to the dock. Definitely recommend booking a trip.
We sent our son out with his cousin and they had the best time. Thanks for putting them on some great catches.

Really appreciate the booking, Connor!! They did great and we had a really fun time getting those fish in the boat! We will have to get you on the boat next time!

He works his a** off to put you on fish. That’s my barometer for whether a captain is good or not: not whether you catch a bunch of fish but whether the Captain sits in a spot that isn’t producing, and Jodie doesn’t do that. I’ll fish with him again.

I really appreciate that Taylor! We had to work for em, but it was a great trip. Cannot wait for the next trip with yall!
