Book your next trip with Loose Cannon Fishing Charters and find out what you’re missing in Fernandina Beach. Captain Chris will be your guide, offering years of angling experience and local knowledge of Northeast Florida’s inshore waters.
These productive estuaries, grass flats, oyster bars, and tidal creeks are known for excellent slot Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Flounder, and more. During your trip, you’ll enjoy light tackle fishing with techniques like sight casting to tails on the flats, drifting creeks, or working structure — all tailored to the tide and conditions for the best bite possible. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep, and your catch can be cleaned right after the trip. Now that’s dinner!
You’ll be fishing aboard a 2024 Mamba 227VX — a shallow-draft, agile bay boat perfect for inshore exploration. It features a Power-Pole shallow-water anchor for silent, precise positioning, spacious casting decks, tournament livewells, and comfortable seating for up to 4 passengers. The boat comes fully equipped with everything you need: premium rods, reels, terminal tackle, lures, and fresh/live bait.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license — it’s provided for all anglers. Be mindful that some species have special rules or limited seasons; your Captain will help you follow all regulations.
Trips with Loose Cannon Fishing Charters are open to the whole family, so bring the kids! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. It’s always wise to bring snacks, drinks (no glass bottles), sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but please avoid hard liquor.
Treat yourself to a memorable day on the water chasing redfish and other inshore species with Loose Cannon Fishing Charters in Fernandina Beach!

Amazing Trip
3hr Kids Trip on July 31, 20245 adults1 child

Man, I feel like I made a new friend. Chris, you’re the best. Thank you so much for spending the extra time with us on the water. My family came in town from Kansas and weren’t prepared for the intense Kingfish action today. We’re going to be eating fish for days. I’ll definitely hit you up again in the near future. Cheers!

Experience of a lifetime. Multiple hook ups, multiple fish and a great captain. Boat was top shelf. Could not have asked for a better fishing experience. Those Kings are so much fun to chase and catch.

Full Day Wahoo
3/4 Day (PM) on December 5, 2021

10/10 Recommend going on the loose cannon. Everything about the trip from timeliness, equipment, and expectations was as advertised if not better! Top notch equipment and vessel. If we didn't jump on the fish fast, Capt. Chris was finding the next hole to ensure we did. Anytime I am in Jacksonville, this is the only charter I will use!
