There's a fish with your name on it in Brigantine and Retriever Fishing Charters will help you catch it!
Local species include Tautog, Striped Bass, Flounder, Black Seabass, Weakfish, Bluefish, Sheepshead, Cod, Mahi Mahi, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Little Tunny, and more, depending on the time of year. On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. Capt. Connor also offers fly fishing trips too!
Retriever Fishing Charters welcomes kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Capt. Connor welcomes you aboard a 20' Maritime bay boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has all the essentials. Capt. Connor will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. Don't forget to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

Retriever Fishing did not disappoint. It was a pleasure hanging out Captain Connor. He's very knowledgeable, a nice guy, and we definitely caught some fish! My 13 year old does a lot of bass fishing at home, but during our NJ visit wanted to find something bigger - and he sure did. Connor recommended his shark trip and in no time, he was reeling in a shark, one almost as big as he is. Flexibility was cool as well. After a few sharks caught, we switched things up and finished out the morning doing some flounder fishing. Caught a good number of those too. The whole experience was a lot of fun. I highly recommend!
Never done a private charter like that before, we are from Miami and moved up to nyc for work. Wanted to take a break from being in the city and get out on the water and catch some fish. Not only did we catch over 30 flounder but we even got a Bluefish. The best part though was the man, Captain Connor, a great person to spend the day with. I was definetly nervous about how the energy would be having never met before but man was great. It was great to converse with him and hear some of the many fishing stories he has and knowledge he has on the water is amazing. To sum it up the Dude was an encyclopedia of the ocean and a great man to hang with. Also cleaned and filleted our fish. Highly recommend for those wanting to fish privately/not on a party boat. Or even just those wanting to be with nature and escape from the city.
Yo. Captain Connor is legit and incredibly knowledgeable of the waterways and fish swimming in them. He was friendly and easy tochat with and also gave me and my husband tons of info about fishing the area we were staying. Captain Connor had us fishing and reeling in sharks the entire trip! What an awesome experience! We will be booking another trip this summer! Oh and fyi, remember your bug spray beforehand and stay covered in light colors so the greenheads don't bother you so much.
I booked this trip after seeing Captain Connors impressive content on Tiktok. This is by far the most fun back bay charter you can book in AC! Captain Connors simple yet affective methods of getting you and your crew on fish, is a blast for all skill levels! And if you are a light tackle junkie like myself, this is the trip for you. Captain Connor had us all set up with medium light spinning gear, what a fun fight! Highly recommend his sercices to anyone!
My wife and I brought our two boys and two of their friends to AC for graduating high school and the boys really wanted to go shark fishing. Well, I have to say all 4 of them had an unforgettable experience with Captain Connor. I can’t even begin to explain the boy’s experience and Connor made the trip extremely exciting for all the boys. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone interested in shark fishing.

Welcome to Retriever Charters, my name is Capt. Connor Brown and I hope to meet you out on my boat for a great day on the water! I have grown up fishing the coast of New Jersey from Cape May to Brigantine! My father has been a great mentor teaching me how to be successful fishing these coastal waters. Now I get to share that wealth of knowledge by showing others how great the fishing on our coast lines are. I earned my Captains License in 2019, since then I have been running charters as Captain during the summers under different company's in Brigantine and Atlantic City NJ. In May 2023, I graduated from Penn State with a degree in outdoor recreation, tourism, and park management. I believe my education and skillset will be the right pick for your day on the water! In my free time I enjoy fly fishing for any species fresh or saltwater game fish. Also, I have a great passion in waterfowl hunting and love to spend my winters duck hunting with my golden retriever 'Hunter'. Cant wait to see you out on the water!
