If you're ready to try fishing in New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, Oak Hill, and the Merritt Island National Refuge look no further than PutchaOnEm.
These waters are known for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Flounder, Black Drum, and more. On these trips, you can expect to fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Caiman also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
You'll be casting lines from a 17' Flats boat with space for 2 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

went out on Sundays Mar.29th. over cast and windy. was not looking like the best day in my eyes. He took us out and with in one cast my son (11) got a HUGE sheepshead, we got snook and probably 6 jacks , my poor casting got snagged, the captain had extra equipment ready and passed off the new pole and he took care of my screw ups. we moved to a different spot BAM more fish fishing slowed down we moved BOOM sharks !! we will pulling in pups lefts and right! was not what we were going for but my son was more that excited so we stayed and he excitement was worth every minute and penny i spent!! the boat this real nice well kept. the captain is fantastic great with kids and knows his stuff. I 100% recommend him and will continue to do so. This was the best trip my son has been and the best birthday gift he could has asked for.
Captain caiman was up to the challenge, he put us on fish our first stop,water clarity wasn't ideal but he pushed for success and definitely succeeded at putting us on fish all day!! Me and my daughter definitely had an awesome day on the water with him!! Next time i'm in town I will definitely be booking another trip with him!!

Growing up in a fish-addicted family, I've been in and around the fishing culture in New Smyrna Beach, FL. I started fishing with my grandfather, catching Trout, Redfish, and Tarpon here in the Mosquito Lagoon every summer, and every day I wasn't in school or shredding the surf. In the past 6 years, I've had the bug for finding fish of all kinds in super skinny water. Watching any game fish do their natural habits in their domain is one sight I'll never get tired of. For me, it's about the eat and the expansive range of emotions one endures when all this beautiful action occurs.
