If you’re ready to try fishing in New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, Oak Hill, and the Merritt Island National Refuge look no further than PutchaOnEm.
These waters are known for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Flounder, Black Drum, and more. On these trips, you can expect to fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Caiman also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
You’ll be casting lines from a 17’ Flats boat with space for 2 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. A few items to bring include snacks, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask.
