What an incredible fishing experience with Captain Abdulla aboard the Black Pearl! From the moment we set off, it was clear we were in expert hands.
The trip was packed with non-stop action and great variety — we fished multiple styles including jigging, casting, popping, and trolling, ending the day with 7 fish landed. We had our heart-pounding moments too — a wahoo that got away, and a grouper snatched right off the line by a shark at the last second. The kind of stories you'll be telling for years!
Captain Abdulla was knowledgeable, patient, and truly passionate about his craft. He even stayed an extra hour past schedule to get us one more fish, and we were rewarded with a breathtaking sunset on the way back — the perfect ending to an amazing day.

Amazing trip, was a life long dream came true.

I booked two days on the black pearl to try a variety of different types of fishing for different fish. The skipper and crew worked so hard for me to have my dream fishing trip come true.
The shipper move so many times to put us on the fish, we had some amazing fish from small tuna, Trevally, Ruby Snapper and some massive groupers.
He cooked freshly caught fish for us on the first day which was amazing, then on the second day the skipper arrange to collect some food from his friends from a local island, this was incredible and we ate it while the sun set.
All in all it was the most amazing trip and a dream come true, will 100% book with theese guys again when we return. Thanks again guys🙌👍

Great Team!
Offshore Trolling, casting, jigging on August 31, 2025 • 2 adults
I spent a whole day on the boat with the two of them and really enjoyed it (trolling & casting). Fishing was quite tough (besides a few GT bites we only managed to land one GT and one grouper), but the sea was extremely rough with a lot of wind, which made some spots unfishable and generally more challenging. Of course, that's nature and nothing the operator can influence. We also didn't fish in the guide's home atoll, which added to the difficulty.
Nevertheless, they did everything possible to get us on the fish and clearly know the waters well. From the very first second I felt warmly welcomed as a guest, and throughout the day they took great care of me. The boat even had a toilet 👍.
Communication was super easy and straightforward, everything was punctual and professional. I'd gladly go again! :)

Amazing time fishing the waters of Maldives

Absolutely amazing day. Captain was on time for pickup in the morning. Picked us up at the resort pier. We didn't catch any fish in the morning, one hooked but shark got it. He cut the trip short, letting me know fish activity is low and if it's ok we can try again in the evening. We went out again at 4:30 to a local fishing sport for Yellow Fin Tuna and and within a few mins landed two good size fish Tuna! We all know catching fish is never guaranteed but going out of his way to make sure we had the best chance to catch something was really awesome!

Very good captain who tried to make it a great day but the weather was no good and the fish were full

Captain Abdulla is friendly, helpful and has a good fishing setup suitable for jigging, casting and trolling. However the boat is small and when the weather is not good which is not uncommon in the Maldives it can be quite rocky and uncomfortable specifically with no proper shaded area. My advice would be to go out on a good day, I'm sure the experience will be well worth it.
