If you plan on fishing in Holmes Beach, look no further than AMI Book’em And Hook’em Fishing. Captain Colby will be your guide, which means you’ll tap into years of local experience.

These waters are known for Gag Grouper, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Tarpon, Speckled Trout, Snook, Hogfish, Redfish, Bull Shark, Red Grouper, Sheepshead, Blacktip Shark, and more – with any luck, you’ll have tight lines in no time. You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea!

You’ll step aboard a 22’ Bulls Bay center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Don't Hesitate - Book this Trip for your Perfect Fishing Charter

6 Hour Trip – Inshore/Nearshore on August 13, 2025 • 3 adults

My wife, daughter and I just finished our day on the water with Captain Colby, and what a great day it was! We've chartered quite a few fishing trips over the years, but this one really sticks out as exceptional. Communication prior to the trip was excellent, and every detail was covered to ensure we got what we expected. Captain Colby obviously is very passionate about both catching fish as well as ensuring that his customers are comfortable and having fun. He put us on top of a large school of trout which resulted several double and triple headers. Captain Colby's boat is extremely clean, and all tackle including rods, reels are of top notch quality. If you lose your fish on a Captain Coby trip you can't blame the fishing pole or reel!. After growing tired of catching fish, we asked Captain Colby if we could try another spot - Immediately he was preparing to start moving. A few minutes later and we were fishing a mile or two away and once again the fish began attacking our baits. This repeated itself multiple times, and then, all to quickly, we were back at the dock where Captain Colby fileted our catch and entertained the Pelicans. We had a great time with Captain Colby, and plan on looking him up when future plans bring us back to this area. If anyone reading this is looking for a successful day on the water with a knowledgeable guide who can quickly get you on fish, Captain Colby won't let you down.

Great times, great fish feast!

Was very pleased to have booked with Colby. Had three younger kids on our trip. He kept them engaged, constantly replentishing their bait, removing their catch, and getting us to where there were fish. We caught several kinds of fish. The kids were all smiles and asked if we could do an all day trip next time. Brought our catch home and had an absolutely delicious feast on the grill.

Colby was awesome. He knows his stuff and was amazing at ensuring we caught fish and at making sure we were having a great time. I caught five mackeral within 45 minutes among other fish! Awesome time if we didnt catch anything but we caught a lot. Definitely would do this again and with Captain Colby.

Captain Colby took my son & his friend out for a two hour adventure. My son has never been fishing vs his friend who has significant fishing experience. Captain Colby was able to find spots where both boys could have an enjoyable fishing experience. Highly recommend no matter the experience level.

Fantastic Fishing Charter!

4 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) on March 14, 2025 • 6 adults

If you're looking for an extremely knowledgeable local guide while visiting the Sarasota/Tampa Bay area, look no further. Captain Colby was very friendly, extremely attentive, and an absolute pleasure to be out in the water with fishing. We were out on a 4 hour trip, and had fish in the boat within the first cast at each spot. (ended up with nearly 2 dozen keepers) We had a few anglers in my group that had very little fishing experience, and with the help of our captain they looked like seasoned veterans by the end of the day. Thanks for a great trip, we'll be sure to send anyone we know visiting the area your way!
