If you plan on fishing in Holmes Beach, look no further than AMI Book’em And Hook’em Fishing. Captain Colby will be your guide, which means you’ll tap into years of local experience.

These waters are known for Gag Grouper, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Tarpon, Speckled Trout, Snook, Hogfish, Redfish, Bull Shark, Red Grouper, Sheepshead, Blacktip Shark, and more – with any luck, you’ll have tight lines in no time. You’ll target your catch by light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea!

You’ll step aboard a 22’ Bulls Bay center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Tons of Fish!

4 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) on November 24, 2025 • 3 adults • 2 children

We had a group of three adults and three kids and had a blast! Captin Colby knew were to go to keep the lines busy. Over all we had at least 60 fish in the boat on a 4 hour trip and Captin Colby keep the entire trip filled between bites talking about the area and teaching everyone about the different species we were catching. We caught Snook, Trout, Red Fish, Flounder, Lady Fish, and even landed a few Sharks at our last spot. Plenty of keepers to feed the group! Highly recommend.

Don't Hesitate - Book this Trip for your Perfect Fishing Charter

6 Hour Trip – Inshore/Nearshore on August 13, 2025 • 3 adults

My wife, daughter and I just finished our day on the water with Captain Colby, and what a great day it was! We've chartered quite a few fishing trips over the years, but this one really sticks out as exceptional. Communication prior to the trip was excellent, and every detail was covered to ensure we got what we expected. Captain Colby obviously is very passionate about both catching fish as well as ensuring that his customers are comfortable and having fun. He put us on top of a large school of trout which resulted several double and triple headers. Captain Colby's boat is extremely clean, and all tackle including rods, reels are of top notch quality. If you lose your fish on a Captain Coby trip you can't blame the fishing pole or reel!. After growing tired of catching fish, we asked Captain Colby if we could try another spot - Immediately he was preparing to start moving. A few minutes later and we were fishing a mile or two away and once again the fish began attacking our baits. This repeated itself multiple times, and then, all to quickly, we were back at the dock where Captain Colby fileted our catch and entertained the Pelicans. We had a great time with Captain Colby, and plan on looking him up when future plans bring us back to this area. If anyone reading this is looking for a successful day on the water with a knowledgeable guide who can quickly get you on fish, Captain Colby won't let you down.

Fantastic Fishing Charter!

4 Hour Trip – Inshore (AM) on March 14, 2025 • 6 adults

If you're looking for an extremely knowledgeable local guide while visiting the Sarasota/Tampa Bay area, look no further. Captain Colby was very friendly, extremely attentive, and an absolute pleasure to be out in the water with fishing. We were out on a 4 hour trip, and had fish in the boat within the first cast at each spot. (ended up with nearly 2 dozen keepers) We had a few anglers in my group that had very little fishing experience, and with the help of our captain they looked like seasoned veterans by the end of the day. Thanks for a great trip, we'll be sure to send anyone we know visiting the area your way!

Colby far exceeded our expectations and we had an amazing time! Colby was great with the younger kids and my brother who is a blind veteran. He was able to talk him through reeling in one of the largest catches of the day. We caught fish in every spot Colby took us to. Will absolutely book Colby for any future fishing trips and highly recommend him. Thanks for making our trip a fun and memorable day!

Captain was great and my family had a blast. He was very patient with my family full of newbies, baiting out hooks, casting our reels etc. He had everything on the boat we needed and was well stocked. Captain took us a different spots in hopes we’d get lucky, but with the heat we weren’t as successful as he hoped. But we caught a few and enjoyed our time. Hoping to visit AMI again and will book with Colby again.
