Redfish Cowboys is your ticket to the stunning waters of Okaloosa Island. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Alex can tell you all about the local fishery.
Species like Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Redfish, Speckled Trout, Crab, Permit, Flounder, Tarpon, Bonito, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season. During the trip you might be spinning, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. For the more adventurous among you, there's bowfishing.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll be casting lines from a 22' Blazer Bay boat that can carry up to 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain Alex called before our trip and offered to cancel due to rain but we agreed to fish because that was our main reason for being in Florida. Alex was an amazing Captain and made us feel at home. While we didn't catch any fish that we could/wanted to keep, it was still a very memorable and enjoyable experience. Everyone caught fish, even mom who said she didn't want to fish, reeled in a line, being helpful, and there was a fish on the hook. Conditions were not favorable, but Capain Alex still provided us with memories that will last a lifetime.

I have had my fair share of multiple fishing guides in the past from various locations around the gulf including Destin, but captain Alex has to be my #1 guide currently. He didn’t just put me on my PB redfish but in all we had a great time chasing after them, jamming to some tunes and great conversation. I could tell within 30 minutes in the trip that this ain’t just a job for Alex but a passion, which for me being a experienced angler and bringing someone along that is unexperienced to fishing meant a lot to me because when looking for a good fishing guide, you want someone that not just puts you on the fish but gives you the thrill of chasing after them while properly coaching you the various techniques of catching these fish and allowing you to feel open to ask questions and most importantly for you to feel welcome and safe to be on their boat, and Alex didn’t fail to make that happen. 100% recommend these guys for the unexperienced and the experienced anglers!

Changing weather, weird tide cycle, and a midday trip are not ideal for hitting good fishing, but by George Capatain Alex got it done. We booked a 3 hour kid trip and that’s exactly what we got! The kids caught fish until they emptied the live well, then momma and I caught bait off the front of the boat while they hammered blues off the back! It was a blast! They say you can either go fishing, or you can take a kid fishing, but you can’t do both! Redfish Cowboys made it to where we could do both!

We booked the 2hr kids fishing charter with captain Alex. Our 4 year old caught around 30+ fish and Alex was phenomenal with our son.
