Off Island Adventures – Pamlico Adventure
Ocracoke has a fish with your name on it, so let Off Island Adventures help you catch it! With Captain Jimmy at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
You're likely to go after Flounder, Bluefish, Black Drum, African Pompano Jack, Cobia, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, and more if you come at the right time of year.
During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Your fishing machine for the day is a 24' Skiff that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has all the essentials.
Capt. James will provide rods and reels for you. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid glass bottles.

I’ve been on a couple fishing charters, and none match up to how fantastic this charter was. I brought my teenaged sister, who has always wanted to go on a fishing charter, and thankfully Captain Jimmy was kind enough to take us out not just in the Ocracoke inlet, but out in the ocean due to good conditions. He was simultaneously informative about Ocracoke, the diverse fish population we caught, and the Outer Banks while helping us reel in a mix of Spanish mackerel, groupers, sea bass, blue fish, and bonitas! It was truly a wonderful time, and he was especially attentive to making sure we weren’t sea sick and had enough water (which was much appreciated)! Afterwards Captain Jimmy went above and beyond in finding someone to help us prepare our fish too - even dropping it off at our hotel! Truly a positive experience and I highly highly recommend this to anyone interested.
Thanks for fishing with me Sarah. I hope to see you and Kate on your next visit. Hopefully we will have another pretty day.

We booked an in-shore trip with Jimmy on 7/23/25 knowing we were going out in the “slow” season. Within 15 mins. of leaving the dock we had 7 Blue fish on board. We were interested in trying our luck on some sheepshead. First time the three of us fished sheepshead and within 20 seconds of dropping lines we had a beautiful fish in the cooler. We learned so much from Jimmy about fishing these famously elusive fish and he put us over top of them every time. What our party of three lacked in skill on the bait stealing sheepshead was redeemed by the steady action with the sea bass that made the trip even more successful. The icing on the cake was the beautiful clear Caribbean waters that gave us an opportunity to see various species of ocean life including two loggerheads swimming around the boat. Capt. Jim is equal parts angler, historian, teacher and heckler. And we were there for all of it. Great trip with a great captain. Don’t miss it.
Thank you Mrs.Davis.

This was our second trip with Captain Jimmy and nothing short of amazing! My husband and son caught so many fish! Definitely our number one choice for fishing around Ocracoke! If you're on the fence about booking, take this as a sign to book now. You wont be disappointed!
Thank you. See you soon.
Was very polite & funny but VERY knowledgeable about the fish & the outer banks as a whole! Pretty much a great captain in every way. Caught plenty of fish Would recommend going out with Captain James
Thanks Jacob. Y’all come back and see me.

Jim and Nick were great running the boat and helping out the kids. Everyone had their best charter ever and we caught tons of fish. Great day!
Thanks so much for fishing with us. You guys were great. Hope you get to comeback soon and do it again.
