With an extremely high success rate, Live Bait has been providing sport fishing charters since the year 1985. Live Bait offers deep sea trolling with light to heavy tackles, lures, and live bait. These waters hold game fish like Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Skipjack Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Pacific Barracuda, Shortbill Spearfish, Bigeye Tuna, and more.
Live Bait is a 35' Bertram, powered by twin diesel engines and cruises at 25 knots and designed for offshore and coastwise sportfishing.
All equipment and ice are furnished. For the safety and comfort of our guests, she has a full complement of electronics, A/C, and a marine 'head'. She exceeds the U.S. Coast Guard requirement for safety equipment.
The Captains and crews of Live Bait are all top notch and trained for years before attending to our guests.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask.

Booked a half-day morning trip just to get out on the water and experience fishing in Oahu. Shannon and his crewmate were extremely helpful, welcoming, and made the entire experience a lot of fun. For such a short trip, we were able to land a nice-sized yellowtail and a skipjack! Overall, it was an awesome experience, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy some fishing while visiting Oahu.
We went on the 4 hour pm charter. We didnt get any bites until midway through and then 4 went at the same time. only able to hook 2 and then we got a 3rd later. All of our fish were Skipjack ranging from 15-23ish pounds. The day was warm, but other than that it was a fantastic experience and we will definitely come again!
Captian Shannon was so cool and laid back! He kept us in the loop on what we were doing next. His first mates were so helpful in bringing fish in with us. We were able to catch onto some good sized tuna! We’d definitely book with these guys again!
We had a great time. We did the 6 hour trip but caught our tunas within the first 2 hours. We ended the trip with two yellow fins (120 and 80 pounders), and a mahi mahi. We had a blast! Thanks captain Shannon.
2 yellow tail, 2 skip jack, and one barracuda. always good for cameraderie. Crew was helpful and very informative. thank you to Capt Shannon.

Captain Shannon has been fishing most of his life. He has experience fishing in Cabo San Lucas, and for over 40 years he has fished in Hawaiian waters, including Oahu and Kona. In early 1997, he started fishing on the Live Bait with Captain Dale Simmons off the Waianae Coast. In August 1998, Shannon purchased the business from Simmons and has been the owner and operator ever since. Shannon enjoys sharing the excitement of big-game fishing with other anglers on their fishing adventure. He also holds the title of catching the biggest fish in the legendary Ahi Fever Tournament in Waianae.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
